Thanks. I face due south, so often the sun is on the wrong side. With the flying away angle, at least the face lit up. They're pretty dark and shadowy at a young age.

A juvenile has been in my area recently and finally spotted him close enough for a shot.

Nice. I bought the same make of neoprene for my 150-450. Tripod collar won't rotate with rear neoprene piece installed, which is a bummer.

I need one too. I was going to purchase either the Kinesis or the Grizzly. Not sure about the fill yet.

I've had a 560 since late summer. Had it attached to a leather sling with a belt buckle type adjuster. Sat in a chair using monopod, end of belt pushed back into buckle, folded up and released from the prong. Stood up, sling and the gear hit the concrete parallel. Camera was fine except a little hot shoe dent. Lens coat on lens, so no scratches. Unfortunately, the barrel loosened in the middle, where others have had issues with this lens. Instead of sending it thru Precision and back to Japan, I sent it to Dave at Advance camera. He replaced the 17 teeny tiny screws that Pentax had used for assembly (several had pulled out), with larger screws that are used to repair fa 600s. He said the screws Pentax used were too short and installed without thread lock. Lens works like a charm and I'm sure it's a lot stouter than it was originally. So, another shout out to Advance for a fine, crafty repair at a great price. Nonetheless, the old sling is going in the trash and I ordered a black rapid. That was my recent traumatic drama.

Thanks. Very tricky over the water or an Eagle or Hawk hunting in a field with similar brown colors. Often disastrous for me unless it fills a majority of the frame. Probably tough for any camera though. Just curious if or how much better a mirrorless can perform.

I would be curious to know how the zf (or similar nikon mirrorless) afc accuracy and tracking compares to the k3iii.

Lens cover for my 150-450 in a new olive green color. Outdoor Photography gear. 1st time I've ordered from them. It is not designed properly though. I had to leave a piece off and rearrange another. Essentially, their rear piece covers tripod collar and the rear of the lens. You then can not rotate the collar. Also the peice I have over the distance scale, is suppose to cover the switches. Which make no sense. There is no cut-out for the lock or limit switch. Just an FYI. I should of ordered a lens coat.

Thanks. Odd though, it's the same setting on my 2 k3iii's and k1. I've tried several methods from angled charts, min focus distance, 50x distance, yard sticks, dot method, all with similar results. (Except dot method didn't flicker or hesitate at a -10 so it was a guesstimate on the minus end) I've just read what others post and it's usually less correction. No biggy if it works.

2 positive @450? Wow I'm at a -6 or -7 both k3 and k1. I must have a crappy copy.

I just started using hold recently after reading one of the forum articles by beholder3 on "af hold". I've had it off. Most of my bif are moving parallel or in a swooping 45 deg angle. Sounds like having it off in this scenario can cause more problems than help.

Don't use large area for birds. I use ex s spot or select. Use back button and establish the focus in the center first. If you're using shutter release for focus it will want to refocus everytime you press button. Auto area rarely works for birds. If your going to use it you really have to pay attention to where the focus ndicator squares land. Zone works pretty good for bif against a sky or a limited background. They key is establishing center focus on subject first. Watch the focus indicators as you track. If they're moving off subject, release focus and re-establish. What I do anyway.

I recently contacted outdoor photography gear. I just ordered an olive green (new color) for my 150-450. They said they also still have the templates for the 65b.

Thanks. Shot a couple with LV and they were a bit sharper than ovf. Recalibrated lens and found I was off a couple numbers.

A cedar waxwing that finally showed it's face. These guys like to forage and stay under cover deep within cedar trees during the winter. It took forever to get one shot. They're out in the open a little more during the fall eating berries. But even then, they like hiding behind branches. K1-II/150-450. Raw images with the K1 always seem so colorful, even unprocessed.

Same here. Probably the one with case and box. They had a few, only one today. Their inventory comes and goes. Not long ago they must of had ten. There's a nice one for sale here on the forum, very reasonable.

I shoot raw and sometimes add +1 if using in-camera raw processing. It appears to add a touch of contrast and looks a tad-bit sharper. Image/subject will darken with each positive adjustment. If shooting raw, the adjustment is only a pre-set for in camera raw processing. For jpegs I just avoid it and save for post, but I do like it for monochrome @+1.

There's a tamron adaptall fb page you may try. Considering the converter prices and the lens cover - that's too cheap already imo.

Cool! I grew up in the sport. We had a private lake in Iowa. I jumped in the Nats several times, lucky to win Mens 1 in 85. Jumped Open men for a while. Developed a lower back injury and retired from the sport couple years later. Tried coming back in the 90s but my back just wouldn't take it.
