I bought a Camera there. Very good experience + instant cash refund for foregin passport holder /non resident tourists ,used to be 8 % and no processing fees now cash refund 10%?

However beware Sony and some? Panasonic wont have English menu .

I read the little bit of History treatise to the extent I can understand it. Thankyou.
I have a circa 1989 Pentax SF7autofocus film camera (? AKA SF10 in some parts of the world/USA) that are sometimes only worth locally $10-20 on facebook marketplace. Would it have the white solenoid in it so I can keep it as spare? I dont think I am handy enough but maybe can give it to a repair shop as spare parts.
Also there is this guy in Japan selling a few 7-9 shutter counts K-S2, as mint used cameras for $300, would this be similar to your German dealer selling "repaired solenoid "demonstrators story?

Thanks, I did buy my brand new Canon S120 point and shoot camera at Mapcamera few years ago when a newer model was being introduced. It was a bargain and just steps from Keio Plaza hotel where the above postal code belongs. Hopefully the yen would be favourable still when Japan opens up to tourists again.

if the deal includes 2 new lenses and the K70 body, I think I'll gives it a shot as my first digital slr kit. Initially I was going to get a used K70 for about 36000 yen after tax refund and put my old Pentax-F 25-70 mm lens on it. But if getting a new camera kit lenses for <75000 yens, I will buy new!

Trying to buy a first digital slr. My previous slr was a SP7 film camera. It seems like Japan will be opening up soon. I put my (upcoming tentative visit )hotel's postal code as 160-8330(Japanese postal code). This gives me a domestically available only camera kit sold by Amazon JP directly ,(not a third party seller )for 74565 Yens=about USD 532. Which seems very cheap for a new camera+18-50 zoom lens+50-200mm zoom lens. Does this seem too cheap to be true? Can someone who buys from Amazon JP verify this is indeed true?
