The first time I've used Kodak BW400cn. Very good film. |

I must say I was very surprised at the high ISO performance of the Pentax k-m. This is an unprocessed image taken at ISO 3200.
This camera produces very useable images at high ISO's. |

Just finished scanning a roll of XP2. All taken with a Pentax MX. This was with the SMC-M 28mm f2.8:
And with the SMC-M 50mm f1.7. |

The top image certainly looks very natural in comparison to the bottom one. Excellent reproductions.

From an old roll of HP5 I found and scanned this afternoon. I know it was taken with a K1000. |

Some great shots posted on this thread!
This is from a scan of FP4, taken on a K1000 with (I think) the 50mm f2, from 1989.
and from 1994, the same camera and lens, Kodachrome 64. |

Same as I would with the K200D, set to 'M' manual, with the metering at 'green' the evaluative setting.

I've got a good collection of SMC-M and SMC-A lenses which I used a lot with my old K200D. My particular favourite is the SMC-M 28mm/3.5.
I've now got the K-7, but when I use a SMC-M lens, enable aperture ring, set the aperture, and then push the green button, the shots I'm getting are very underexposed. I'm having to compensate with 2 stops to get reasonable exposure. I've not had this problem with SMC-A lenses, and I didn't experience this with the K200D.
I can compensate for this with addition EV, but it's a pain. Anyone else suffering this?

Peter,
Complete default settings straight out of the box. Because I'm normally a RAW shooter, I'm not too familiar with JPEG settings:o
It's set to **** jpeg quality, 14m.

As an example, this is a JPEG taken this afternoon. It's the K-7 with the WR kit lens.
I'm really happy with the results. |

I was lucky enough to get one of the first batch of K-7's released here in the UK. I use Aperture and normally shoot RAW. My previous DSLR was the K200D which was excellent.
There's no support for the K-7 from Apple yet, so I set the RAW file format to DNG and shot as normal in RAW using the default RAW converter in Aperture.
I've shot a lot in RAW but the images took a lot of tweaking to get decent results, so I thought I'd try a few JPEG's. The JPEG results are quite stunning and to me seem better than the processed RAW's.
I was wondering if this could be that Aperture RAW support for standard DNG isn't up to scratch, or is the in camera JPEG processing simply excellent?
I'm more than happy with JPEG's from the K-7, but was wondering if this was similar with the K20D?

The first time I've had the chance to try my SMC Takumar 55mm 1.8. Another stunner of a lens and if anyone needs a reason to purchase a Pentax, then this is it. I've made it more or less permanent PK by fitting the M42 adaptor without the little leaf spring. |

I got a Tamron 70-300 for £70. What a bargain! A superb lens, plasticky and bulky, but great IQ. |

The SMC-A 16mm f2.8 is another A 'gem'. Like others, it is pin sharp and contrasty. One of my favourites. This shot was take as a JPEG. |

...and from the same delivery, I got a SMC-M 75-150 f4 for the equivalent of $10 and it also is a great lens, so far as I have tried it.
This was taken at the 150mm end, on f4. |

I shoot RAW on my K200D, then tweak the default RAW settings in Aperture, add a bit of vibrancy, adjust exposure slightly and the shots look great.
I finally got my hands on a SMC-M 28mm f3.5, and it is a stunner of a lens. Pin sharp and lovely contrast. Must be one of the sharpest M lenses there is. |

Apologies for the last shot:o
Just noticed it was for M lenses only, not A's. I did use it on M though;)

I've got to agree, the SMC-M 28mm f2.8 is a very underrated lens. I've also got the SMC-A 28mm, but the contrast from the M seems better, maybe it's just the copy I've got.
This one is taken with another favourite of mine, the SMC-A 16mm f2.8. A gem of a lens. |

The major UK show is on tomorrow in Birmingham, The Focus show, and Pentax are not even exhibiting:( There are hundreds of exhibitors in what is a major photographic industry event over here.
The one argument I would say would make most buy a FF Pentax SLR is the ability to take the old manual PK lenses. I'd say Pentax should develop the cropped lenses seperately and use the old lenses and the few FF compatible primes as the driver for a FF camera.
I for one would jump at the chance of any FF camera which would take my old PK primes, such as the 16mm, 28mm and in particular the 50mm 1.7's. I am just looking for the full benefit of these optical gems:cool:
