This is another great affordable and in this case long lens we as Pentax shooters have at our disposal. Cannot believe that it wasn't already in the samples area.
f9.5 1/60 iso 100 the subject is just over 1/3 mile away taken from a ridge overlook. |

Love the medium Temba messenger bag, it is my main bag. The large would be better for the K1 and a second body, and laptop might might fit. I carry a k5 w/ grip aiming down, a DA15, DA35M, D70, FA*24, DA50, digital light meter and a rocket blower in my medium. I could actually slip my iPad in if I wanted. Heck of a good deal.

That explains it. I mostly see them as a minor explosion followed by a brown streaking blur.

My vision while planning this shot was to capture the beutiful view of my wife I am greeted with every morning. In order to convince her to particpate, I promised to keep it tasteful and that I would take it in such a way that she would find it flattering. Post processing was handled in Aperture 3 and with Nik plug-in suite. Camera was tripod mounted and lighting was reflected natural window light. IMGP4514 by Schmidlapper, on Flickr

Went out to top of mountain to take some Sunrise photos this morning, and could hardly see to drive. This is my attempt at making lemon aide. IMGP4083 by Schmidlapper, on Flickr

Normhead seems to have one of the best version of this lens I have seen, some might say his is a little magical. Mine on the other hand takes great pleasure in finding my inadequacies.

They weight the same and both have built in hoods and tripod collars, same largest aperture, and you don't care about the A setting, so it comes down to two issues; the first is optical qualities. The A according to the database on here rates the A slightly higher especially for bokeh and aberration, which would mean the changes made from the M to A version addressed those short comings without making something else worse. The second is price, which is the real major difference as it almost always is. In the used market you are not paying for manufacturing costs differences, instead you are paying for desirability differences, be it for rarity or perceived value. So my point is the market has assigned a higher perceived value to the A's technical merits, so it comes down to your comfort level spending the difference for the A over the M. I have an A version and it takes dedication to use it with a digital SLR as they come from two different focusing eras. It is sharper and longer than my DA55-300, but the auto focus and lighter weight of the DA are often desirable enough to make me accept those drawbacks. I wish you well on your decision and in summery, Get the A.

I too use one of these as my everyday carry bag and it is just what I wanted.
