Ok I have my trusty K100D up for sale. I thought I had a sale but that fell through. I would like to sell this quickly so I am offering it at a steal of a price IMHO for tonight only. I will let the camera and lens go for $335 +shipping (paypal included). Alternatively I will let the camera go for $240 and the lens for $115 but only if there is a buyer for both.
Pictures of the 50-200 are in my other thread, and pictures of the K100d are here. SALE PENDING |

What sort of info are you looking for? The Serial number indicates it was made by Tokina, third digit is a 2 so I'm thinking 1972 vintage. Focus scale goes from infinity to 20 feet, but it fucuses past there a little so Close focus is a bit closer than that. F stops are f5.5-22.
Let me know if there is any other info you would like.

I have a couple old tele lenses that I am looking to get rid of.
The First is a 400mm Quantaray T mount f5.6 (manual stop down). This lens is actually not too bad once you stop it down. Probably the easiest way (on the wallet) to get to 400mm. Lens is in very clean condition with case and hood. I'm looking for $65 for the lens, or $70 with a Pentax T mount adapter.
Second is a Vivitar 300mm f5.5. This lens is very clean, I can only see a couple small rub marks on the body, other than that it looks just about new. Has a built in tripod mounting collar. This is one of Vivitar's "adaptall" type lenses. It is not compatible, but uses a similar kind of system. The adapter which is included is a M42 adapter. The auto pin has been removed as it prevented manual stopdown on my K100D. I'm looking for $30 for this one. Sorry no pics at the moment, if you would really like some I can try to get some but I am short a camera at the moment.

I recently picked up two of these, they are literally less than a month old. Comes with card, card reader, pouch, and recovery software. I'm asking $25 Shipped each or $45 shipped for the two of them. Might be a little over rebate prices but you are getting basically new cards without the hassle of rebates.

Ok I am putting my K100D up for sale. Body is in great shape, about 15K (I think) on the shutter. There are a couple small scratches on the LCD (I think I might have had a coat with a zipper on) and a couple barely visible marks near the tripod mount screw. Other than that I can find no marks on it what-so-ever. Sensor is pretty much clean, there were a couple very minor spots that I figured I was better off leaving alone last time I checked. There are also a single spot of dust in the viewfinder. I'll throw in a PNY 2gb card that has been flawless and was used for just about all of those 15k shots. $275
50-200mm lens same deal as the 18-55 -$150
I only have pics of the 50-200 at the moment, been using the camera to take my listing pics. |

Alright next on my list of things getting put up for sale here are three m42 lenses.
Pentacon 135mm 2.8 (Zeiss). As some of you know I am sure there were a number of lenses made in the GDR during the cold war by zeiss that were sold under other names. This is one of them. This lens is one of my favorite lenses with simply amazing sharpness and contrast, see a discussion of it with images here. Lens is in good used condition pretty much clean other than a few dings to the edge of the lens hood. Also this may be a feature or a blemish depending on your point of view but the lens has a hole drilled in the mount to allow it to lock in place using the Pentax style m42 adapter. $75
Vivitar 200mm 3.5 this is a nice sharp 200mm lens. this copy shows wear but is functionally solid. $40
Lastly is a bit of an oddity. This is a Takumar preset 200mm f3.5 with front cap, hood and tripod adapter. Like the Vivitar this lens shows a decent amount of wear but functionally is 100%, the focus on this is VERY smooth. $50

Ok so I am looking to fund a gear purchase and as I have hardly used my small format stuff lately some of this is going to the block.
Tamron XR Di SP 28-75mm 2.8 - used but in great shape - $300 shipped in the USA [B]Sold[B]
Zenitar 16mm - Used in good shape, pretty clean a couple small marks on the barrel glass is clean, one dust spot on the inside which I suspect was there from the factory. New these are going for about $200 shipped new these days so I am asking $150 shipped OBO -Sold
Bargin 77mm LTD silver- Ok here is the deal with this lens. I bought two "junk" 77mm lenses and was able to put together one working lens from the two. The issue is that the filter ring was severely dented. to fix this I was able to remove the old filter ring and retaining ring without causing additional damage. I ordered the parts to fix it but they were damaged in shipping (they were shipped to my home and then damed in being shipped to me at school) and I never got around to reordering them. The cost for the parts was about $40 shipped. So all this means that the trim ring and filter ring still need to be replaced. Without these the shade slides off the front as the filter ring holds it in place. The hood is also dented but perfectly functional. I believe it would cost about another $40 to replace the hood as well, I had opted to let it go. So here is the deal new with the rebate these are about $580, the one I checked here used was $550. I am asking $375 shipped for this lens as is, which means that after ordering the parts you are looking at a total of $415 or if you want to change the hood $455.
Edit: A little clarification on the 77, what I mean by put together a working lens is that one of them was damaged and the other was partially disassembled, had a dented filter ring, hood and the AF focus drive gears were stripped. I replaced the focus drive with the one from the more damaged lens and put the lens back together.
Edit again: I was able to get the damaged filter ring on the 77 to fit on the lens. This means that the hood is now attached and the lens is more usable as is. I would still recommend getting a replacement but it can be used easily as is now (without filters).
Samples from all of these lenses can be found here: lenses Photo Gallery by Will Fournier at pbase.com |

First of all thanks for all the kind words from everyone who has replied to this thread.
I have a 100D also but it seems that Pentax has had it more this summer than I have :hmm: I have been enjoying shooting film in the meantime, this is the only B&W I have developed so far, but I shot a few rolls of C-41 type stuff to.
I thought I would mention that you don't really need a darkroom to process B&W film. I just use a changing bad to load it onto the spools and then into the light tight tank and the rest is done in daylight. After processing I scanned these on a Epson 4490 (less than $100 from the Epson outlet). I do hope to set up a darkroom for prints, but for simple processing and scanning the changing bag is all you need.

So I finally got a scanner and can post the results of my first roll of home developed B&W film. The film was Agfa APX100 developed in D-76. Camera was a ME Super with a few different lenses (M 100/4 Macro, K28 3.5, K 200/4, Zenitar 16mm) I have to say that I am VERY happy with the results and I hope this wasn't just a bit of beginner's luck.

Contrary to some of the alarmist opinions mentioned here, some care goes without saying though, with older pentax lenses (pre F series I believe) it is a fairly easy adjustment to make. Basically you remove the trim ring and the filter holding hood and there should be three screws which when loosened will allow you to adjust where the lens is focused in relation to the scale. This may help, it is for the Takumar 50mm 1.4 but your lens (assuming it is a K, M or A lens) should be very similar.
Edit: Just noticed that you have the K version which should be almost identical to the SMC Takumar version of the lens. I believe it is only the mount that was changed.

I don't have a huge alount of film expirience so take this with a grain of salt. I have been shooting a little Kodachrome 64 and I know that a tripod has been essential in several situations with that so it might be a good idea for the 50. If you are shooting black and white color filters might be fun, and also a polarizer might be useful. As far as other films I really don't know, I just shot a roll of AGFA APX 100 and processed it myself. It appears to have come out pretty well, but I havn't had a chance to scan it yet so we'll see when that is done. I have heard good things about the AGFA APX400 and Ilford HP5 (?) for faster B&W films. I've never been there so I can't really comment on specific situations.

I had these scanned when they were processed. My first few rolls I just had processed at Walmart because I am expirimenting more than anything. I am in the process of getting a scanner however so I can do this myself and also because I processed my first B&W film yesterday and a scanner seems like the best option to get it onto the computer.

I posted some shots over in the post your photo's section here and thought I would share a couple here. Nothing too fancy in terms of film just some standard Kodak 200 from walmart. I have picked up some Kodachrome and Agfa ASX100 to play with as well (want to try my hand at developing the Agfa). First is with my SMC K 28mm 3.5 and the second is with the Zenitar 16mm Fisheye. |

I have started shooting some film, nothing fancy just Kodak 200 walmart special, but I got a few shots I liked:
Wow I just realized that all of these were taken in the vertical format, I usually shot more in the horizontal with my K100D.

Nice shot, I recently got the SP 200-500 5.6 and I must say I am very impressed with this old Tamron glass. At least the 300 2.8 is on my list for when I have some extra cash. Here are a few shots from the 200-500. |

That is kind of funny actually, I have a K100D also and got the MX after that. After I have been using the MX for a while the K100D VF seems tiny.
