Hello,
First I would like to thank the forum members for all of the help and guidance that I have received over the past year. Although I do not post very often many of the question that I have get answered just by scanning the existing posts.
I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on a telephoto lens for my K10D. My budget is around $600.00. I am using a cheap(150.00) Sigma 70-300mm at this time and I am looking to upgrade. I am aware that to get a GOOD 300mm lens I would need to spend much more than 600 dollars but unfortunately that's my limit. I have looked at the Pentax 80-320mm f4.5-5.6 but the reviews are mixed. Is there any other lens manufactures that have quality glass in this price range?

Thanks for the info. That is pretty much how I have been doing it EXCEPT for the "Flash in Wireless Mode" custom setting. Maybe that is my issue. I'll give it a try.

I am triggering the 7500DX with the on board K10D flash. Which I think is correct, but part of the issue is that I am not sure if I am setting the K10D up correctly.

Hi all -
I have a question about using a flash unit off of the K10D. I recently bought a Promaster 7500DX flash unit for my K10D. The flash works great when connected to the camera, however, I have been trying to use the unit mounted on a tripod disconnected from the camera using the wireless option on both the K10D and the flash here is my setup...
- 7500DX is mounted on a tripod and set to trigger via the K10D on board flash
- The K10d is set to the wireless flash option
When I take the picture the 7500DX triggers but the picture is very under exposed. If I mount the flash on the camera, using the same aperture and shutter settings, the picture is perfect.
Has anyone used the wireless trigger of the K10D? It almost seems like the shutter is opening and closing BEFORE the 7500DX actually triggers.
Any ideas?

Does the camera need to focus in order to get proper WB? And, will it focus with the filter that close.

First let me apologize for rookie questions that I may ask. I am fairly new to digital photography and I have much to learn.
I am using a K10D and love my new camera. Here is my question:
When shooting at the highest quality setting, 10MP, I notice that when viewing the image size in Photoshop that my Resolution is only 72ppi. Is there a setting that changes this or do I have to manually process my image to get the 300ppi needed to get a quality print. Will shooting in RAW vs Jpeg effect this?
