Coming from an ME. I use mostly AV. When i get really lazy i slap it in the Auto mode. However, i really need to fool around with the P mode more.

I have to agree with roscot on this. Mine rarely leaves my camera. I just lov the lense.

I Do not use a UV Filter unless i Need it For a reason. If the camera is out of the bag, I Make sure a lens hood is on it. I have replaced a couple of lense hoods But not the entire lense. IMHO the lense hood Will Protect the the lense

I am Of the school Shoot First, Delete later. The Quanity Of photos i take will vary on the reason/Subject I am Shooting. However I usually delete about 20-30%. I keep the rest. Are they all Pictures that i Would Frame and post ? NO!, But They all have meaning To Me.

Ultimatly Thats your call. I however am keeping mine only beacuse all my Pentax M Lenses Were purchased For my ME. I am trying To get my Son interested In photography and the ME would make a great learning Tool.
I Did initally use them with My DS, However my eyesight Is getting Worse and i just cannot Focus as well. So i just use my AF lenses.

When It was Time To Get My DSLR. I looked at them all. I Boiled it down to just to the DS and the D70. To me the DS just plain felt more comfortable to hold. I also liked the viewfinder brightness of the Pentax better. And as a bonus I could use all my pentax lenses that I had from my ME days.

Hi Guys
I believe you will find that the rechargeable CRV3 batterys have to much Voltage.
So if you use them you could burn out all the Electronics.
This is why Pentax warns not to use them.
I use the 2500 mah NIMH AA batterys and Get around 500 Shots. Using the CRV3 reg(Non rechargeables) batterys, i get about 1100 with MY DS

I Do not believe that Is Correct. I am sure i read that the Green Mode Is fully auto. Also available Is program Mode. This is full auto with the ability to adjust some items that are not adjustable in the Auto mode.
What You lose is the scene modes.
Someone please correct me if i am wrong

I also Am a Pentax Shooter from about 30 Years Ago. First camera was K1000, then moved up to the Pentax ME.
I have had my DS now for over a and love it. However I am Finding that Since I Hit 52 this month. SR is looking More appealing.
Hoping this Spring To get the K10D

Hi Jobs
While in the end its your Call, If i were in your shoes I would get the K100. The K100 IS Available now and it has a proven track record. Get the K100 and get some experiance with the Camera. Also as you are new to a DSLR. You will need the extra money for the LBA that will Follow. Plus you will need Batterys, cases, flashs ETC.

I Use Mainly RSP. I have tried them all and I still Keep coming back to RSP W/Color Engine. If i had to chose a second Favorite it would Be Silkypic.
Not Very happy at all With lightroom, but i reserve judgement on It Till It Comes out of Beta. I have Elements and PSCS2, but i never liked ACR.

I will wait a bit also. Then read about other peoples experiancances with it. I love my DS,but With my age and Heath problems I really think that the SR is the way to Go. Yes i Could Go with the K100D. But if i am spending the Money. I want to step Forward.
