I get the marketplace lead, however i have read the reviews that i might get a good or bad 16 50. I do not want to get stuck with a lemon.

I am looking at getting the 16 50 and selling my Tamron 28-75 and 17 -35 to finance the purchase.
I was wondering what online vendor would be the best bet to buy from that is easy to deal with in terms of getting assistance if the lens is a bad copy. I have looked at Amazon, B&H, Adorama and the price seems similar so I think that is not a concern.
I have looked around locally and there is only one place that can carry it and the price is almost 200 dollars more.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the reply special K. I currently shoot raw, but am just wondering is the in camera noise reduction applied to the raw files?

This is a silly question but will shooting raw ignore all my camera settings for post processing. Such as sharpness, etc, etc ( i am guessing yes), and will it disable the in camera noise reduction processing? I figure it will but I just wanted to double check.

I would bet it is the MS HD photo set. Pentax did release the PEF codec for vista and it was signed. Also makes sense since MS might not be able to muscle in on the standards of N&C, but pentax being a smaller player could go with it since then MS will nativley support the format and further differentiate it from the other players.

Here are some snaps of the lens. My first photo is less than ideal, but it is getting late and I really do not want to go back downstairs and re-setup the tripod.

Hope this helps, I can also send photos from the camera directly if people need those.

I purchased this lens about 10 months ago. The lens is in mint condition, and includes caps, hood, paperwork etc. I has been updated by Sigma to work with the K10d without flaws. As I have now upgraded my main lens i no longer need this one. Cost is $140 shipped in the US.
This is a photo I took with the lens. If people want I can post photos of the lens. PM if you are interested.
Thanks for looking.

Hey SMF,
I would be interested in knowing you ideas of what would be a good alternative. To fill my < 28mm gap. The 16-45 would cover this as well but have heard the CA is a pain but wanted to ask.

Hi Everyone,
I have a Tamron 28 -75 and so far really like the lens, it is a good happy medium for me. I have found a Tamron 17 -35 2.8 - 4 and was wondering what peoples thoughs on it are. I figure between these two lens I will have close to the quality (maybe) of the 16-50 and wanted peoples input.
Thank You, K

I would second the smugmug suggestion. I very much like the way I can categorize everything, and it allows me to download back my original images. And their prints are very good IMHO.
