Hinman, you can save quite a bit by buying the NEX5 or even the NEX3. With updated firmware you have access to peaking and such to aid manual focus. I love my NEX 3 and NEX 5.

Here is a couple pictures NEX-5 with the SMC Takumar 55/1.8 on it. Taken with an NEX-3 and 35/1.7 c-mount lens:

and here is one with a C-mount 35mm f1.7 (around $30 or so on ebay):

Very exciting news. The Canon C300 is nice but expensive. If I were to choose between the two, dreaming here, I would def choose the RED Scarlet (RAW just sounds so nice).

NEX-5N vs EP-3

The Sony NEX line need some pancakes like a Pentax 40mm to be more pocket friendly. I was looking to get an older Pentax 40mm pancakes but the K-NEX adapter thickness makes it not worthwhile.

nosnoop you might want to look at the NEX 7 if you want flash. Or you might want to try to tape (to your NEX flash) an optical trigger to a wireless trigger to fire off your lights remotely.

Fry's Elec has SONY NEX3 w/ 16mm for $299

From the Q samples images, it looks pretty amazing but I don't think it'll be anywhere near $299. Although I still think "there's no replacement for displacement" sensor-wise :)

I upgrade the NEX 3 firmware to V4 and manual control is a breeze.

I just picked one up today. The NEX 7 is nice and all but I can't really afford it :) At $299 I think the NEX 3 reasonable.

Very nice job with the flash work. I don't know why Sony came up with that proprietary accessory mount, well I kinda have an idea, but looks like it not working out for them. It doesn't even have pc sync socket, great job for taking the extra effort to make the flash work for you :)

Great images Eric. I am expecting my silver NEX3 & 16mm also order some m42/eos/fd adapters to use with my lens. It'll be fun to mount my FD Tokina 300 2.8 to it.

New Sony NEX-7 looking like a corker

Wow that NEX 7 is really nice. The double Edials and more buttons added means less menu diving (better UI?). The universal flash mount is much welcome. Although, I hope it has full manual video. I'm waiting on the arrival of my NEX 3 and ebay m42/eos adapters which has many complaint on its UI, but with new firmware I can customize couple of buttons. Looks like Sony made much needed improvements with the NEX7.

PIXMA Pro9000 Mark II Inkjet Photo Printer
Tiffen 58mm UV Protection Filter
Canon EF-S 55-250mm

Total = $1,271 - $400 American Express RewardŽ Card = $871

I don't have Pentax, but maybe you guy can try with battery grip and or external monitor to keep some of the heat outside the body, hopefully it'll keep the video running time a lil bit longer.

you'll need the host lens. You need the step up/down ring if you know the thread size of the Proskar or you can get an anamorphic lens clamp.
