Some of the A lenses give great pics, I tend to pick them up whenever possible.
I started with an ME so I guess that I'm just showing my bias for the color and sharpness you can get with some of the old lenses...:-)

Try the old fashioned, "I need to test this new 'lens, set-up, flash, technique, whatever', and I can use you for the test if you don't mind. Just pay me for what you want from the shoot so I'm not out of pocket."
It works on the mindset that they are helping you and doing you a favor and not that you are doing them one. Everyone likes a bargain unless they think it's charity.

A fanboy opinion deserves a Pentax fanboy response. The usual tip off that there are canikons about are furious rattles of shutters banging away 20 or 30 shots at a go, followed by a chorus of grunts as they check to see if any of their shots are usable....:lol:

General list for workflow;
1.spot corrections and fixes.
2. levels for color corrections.
3. curves for contrast.
4. sharpening.
5. image resize.
Your steps may need to be switched around depending on your project, some things work better if you size them first.

Last year a old gentleman passed a picture along to me with the request for me to try and see what I could do. The picture was an old box brownie (?) print and was a double exposure from a wedding. It came with the explanation that the gentleman had no pictures of his parents and the small pic was the only thing he had with them in it and it was from their wedding. After a week of trying and re-trying several different techniques, I managed two passable 5x7s. The wife delivered the photos back and said she felt guilty about accepting the gentleman's money because he couldn't stop crying.
Sometimes, the money just doesn't matter.
Nice work on the pics...:-)

First of all, everyone chimps. The problem is that some people take it to extremes.
Here are two pics I posted last summer in the aircraft section. The pics were taken by my wife. I appologize for the poor quality, she was trying not to laugh while she was taking them.
The subjects in question were using the spray and pray method. Furiously banging away for 20 or 30 shots on burst mode, then immediately checking to see if any were usable. Everyone in the vicinity thought it was hilarious.
Everyone chimps, just don't do it like a prat...:-)
