I'm in Australia and USCamera have an international page, I bought it from them for $22AUD which included postage. Skip Ricoh and use USCamera. My issue is still the glue in there.

I was sent out a new button & plunger a few years ago, recently it came off again. The issue this time is that the super glue has corroded the plunger and now the plunger is half stuck in there and I'm not sure how to get it out.

I usually shoot street scenes with a 28mm A lens, you can shoot from the hip well enough and give's a nice frame when composed. The shots I have taken with the DA40 were a little tight in my opinion so I don't really shoot with it any more. AF is handy but I get decent enough shots with a manual, if I were to go wide AF, I'd go the sigma 30 or the DA21.

I use the 50-135 for concerts, it's a great lens and I'm happy with the results but maybe a top end of 135 is a little short for some photogs.

Keep pushing, these toys aren't cheap and you deserve to get out of the camera what it can truly offer. Good luck.

I was pretty worried about only having one battery and having to photograph a music event. I was mainly using a 50-135 with AF on, I turned off preview mode and any screen settings. I shot over 500 photos, checked most of them in preview for a few seconds and the bar didn't even move. Nothing to worry about after all but I'll still be getting a knock off battery just in case.

The K-5 is faster for sure, but I've shot successful photos with the K10D. Oh...and I use AP-S.

I've been using the 50-135 with a K10D, K-r and now a K-5 for shooting moving targets (concerts and my toddler daughter). The speed isn't super fast but but I'd never get rid of this lens, what I usually do is a test shot to get the focal length in focus and then shoot from there and it's pretty quick. With this photo, she was spinning around.

Fair enough...I'll allow you the luxury :)
Anyway, the Takumar 35mm 3.5 is a fantastic lens and I'm a fool for getting rid of it.

We're talking about a $40 lens here...pointless comparing it to the 31.

I've owned the 44k-4 and the 44-2. Optically, the 44-2 was sharper and quirkier and I miss her dearly. The 44-k was ok, nothing special and had to be metered via the green button...which I hate doing.

I've had a few 35mm m42 lenses, the Super Takumar is a great lens, very small and light and sharp. The only issue I had with it was it's slow aperture. Here are some posts with images from the S Tak 35mm.

Got my K-5 back today, the cam & da40 have been calibrated. I took a few snaps outside and they looked much better. they said to take it home, play some more and come back if I have any other issues with other lenses.

It was purchased in Japan. The C.R K guy didn't seem fussed about the warranty really, Hoya also give you a dated, signed and stamped receipt for the warranty swap.

Have to disagree with you there, I got my K-5 in Japan which obviously comes with a Japanese warranty but you just send that warranty to Hoya with proof of purchase and they send you back an international warranty. I gave my K-5 to C.R Kennedy last week and they accepted it no worries.

Thanks wlachan & Schraubstock, I didn't think about the AF sensor or mirror. Hopefully that's the cause of the problem and all can be cleared up. I'll report back next week some time.
Cheers.

They said it will take 5~6 working days so I'll take the lenses when I pick it up, that way I can hit the streets, take a few test shots and I'm close by if I still think there's a problem.

I've been having issues with my K-5 and lenses (DA40, 50-135 & 18-55), most likely front/back focusing. Anyway, I rang my service centre (C.K Kennedy in Melbourne) and had a quick chat with the guy about my issues and thought they may need to calibrated, he said not to bring the lenses and just the body as that's where the issue probably would be.
I mentioned that the DA40 was the worse affected and I'm getting better results with the 50-135 but he said not to bring the lenses as some lenses can't be calibrated...is this true? I'd think that modern lenses would be capable of calibration.
Anyway, any thoughts or help is much appreciated.

I upgraded from the K-r to the K-5, I got some fairly inconsistent results with the K-r and feel that the K-5 isn't much better but there is more leeway to tweak the AF adjustment settings. I get great results with the DA*50-135 (better at 135) but feel that my DA40 is off but can't seem to find the sweet spot in the AF adjustments. I'll send the cam & lenses in for calibration if I can't work it out. Apart from that issue, the K-5 has been amazing.
