This nice camera arrived this week
I call this German lady 'Gretchen' :)

It's a Automat 6x6 Model RF 111A, made between 1937 and 1939
In working condition, although a CLA would be a good idea for this old lady

Thanks. I can see why he would use it. The Pentax 6x7 has 1/1000th shutter speed which is not common in medium format. Most cameras are leaf shutter which typically top out at 1/500th. And at that speed it inherently has heavy vignetting. Plus the Pentax 6x7 system had a wide selection of longer focal lengths in that format than other systems.

To me the 6x7 configured with a TTL prism is the same as shooting a K1000 except for the physical size of the format. I'm mean, the same kind of controls and metering.

What an outstanding capture!
You were at just the right position to capture the prism effect of the raindrops, and how brilliantly the show!

Scans of a couple of film prints from my Ricoh XR2s around 1990 ish. Unfortunately I don't have any details, other than the black and white was probably Kodak Tri X something, the color probably Kodacolor, both would have been the slowest asa available as I was ocd about film grain.

Black and white.

It is at the bottom of this Pentax publicity picture. PF limits the size of pictures shown here, but you can see an enlargable and clearer version on my website.

In the "LX System" diagram I posted above, they seem to have fogotten the "Hot Shoe Grip" which was for that purpose.

... quoted from Weegee and usually out of context. Weegee was a crime photojournalist looking for news shots, not fine art. Most of his pictures were at night with flash, and he shot from a fairly consistent subject distance, so it made sense to keep to the same aperture and he probably did not adjust focus most of the time either, because he needed to work at speed before the police pushed him back. Then he could leave it to the newspaper darkroom to tune the final exposure, and B&W has a large exposure tolerance.

i've thrown together a small selection of rangefinders with interchangeable lenses to choose from should you ( as i do) don't want a leica or minolta CL. I would not recommend the stalingrad (top left) though as i never encountered one that actually worked.

Forgot one in the line up
