Rolleiflex 2.8D Planar and Rolleinar 3, Tmax400 in ID-11

---------- Post added 01-26-24 at 03:54 PM ----------

Wonderful shot and perfect development. I believe the Richard Bennett used a 6x7 for most of his classic Sydney to Hobart photos.

M-mount lenses

The M-series are 'regular' K-mount lenses, just like the K, A, F and FA series.

Like for like, they're all about the same. Eg. There's not much meaningful difference in size for the 50/f1.4 and 50/f1.7 between different series. However, there are some Pentax-M lenses that were unique optical designs and very compact (eg. the Pentax-M 85/f2).

Sorry if I'm stating the obvious, but do you realise you can use any K-mount lens with an aperture ring on the MX? You don't have to use the M-series...

I've had a few crackers that have all come about either via the local classifieds, or just asking the right people...

This was the Hasselblad kit I picked up from a guy in my town. I'd posted on a local film photography group asking if anyone had an 80mm, and this bloke replied asking if I wanted his whole kit. He was a former commercial pro... It was still a fair bit of money, but by the time I'd sold off the 500CM, 500ELM and 150mm Sonnar, I was left with the SWC/M and 80mm for a couple of hundred dollars.

This one popped up on Gumtree. A beautiful Asahi Pentax S with a couple of early Takumars that was hidden in a bulk lot with a bunch of dirty old Nikons. The seller couldn't understand why I was only interested in the Pentax. By far the rarest camera I own.

The Rollei 2.8D was on Marketplace. The seller had inherited it from his Godfather, and I don't think it had been used in a few decades. Purchased cheap and in unknown functional condition. I spent a bit of money getting everything working, and it's been my most used camera since.

For this shot I used a Makita builders laser rangefinder to get the focus distance. Clunky, but did the job!

Hi all, I'm looking for a film-era Pentax 300mm - M* f4, F* f4.5 or FA* 4.5.

Must be located in Aus.

Workhorse condition is fine as long as it works.

Thanks, Nick
