TC addiction -- Pentax F-1.7x AF TC

So, forgive the dumb question, but...

I have a 1.7 AFA. If I were to put, say a 55/1.2 on the front of it, and a K10D on the back, would I set the focal length for SR to 55 (because it can talk to the TC) or 90 (because it can't or won't).

Sorry, I'm a Canon guy for the most part, just playing with the Pentax since it seems to be a better answer for old MF glass.
