My wife and I came across this former treasure one afternoon while we were out walking in the bush. It reminded me of how sometimes a person can take our treasure and can change it dramatically.

Came across this lovely jumping spider dining out on a fly in our yard. Pretty amazing how he handled the fly that is almost as big as himself. He was devouring it very quickly considering the comparative size - maybe he was worried that I might take it away from him!

Found this beautiful Plume Moth on one of our plants in the front yard. Loved how their wings are very thin and are almost feather like. It amazes me the beauty that surrounds me that I so often just walk past without even noticing.

I went back a second day and heard them eating nuts before I saw them - it was a real privilege to see them 2 days in a row - awesome birds

Was camping around Stuart's point and heard 3 off these rare Cockatoos in the bush early one morning. 2 of them swooped towards me with a twinkle in their eyes - startled me a bit - happened so quickly that I was unable to take a photo of it occurring (at least no good ones :))

I suspect that the black background came out that way because I focused the flash on the fly ---------- Post added 01-30-2017 at 10:46 PM ----------
Thanks for your encouragment

Such a beautiful place - It's amazing that Newcastle's is the world leader in exporting coal.

Thankyou. The cloud colours on the top left hand side have come out layered once I reduced the file size. In the uncompressed file the colour change is more graduated.

There wasn't much light left and I had my trusted 77mm lens on my camera when this flying Gannet came nearby. I would recommend this place for all to visit if you are near Auckland.
I saw someone with what looked like a 600mm lens all camouflaged on a cannon body on a Tripod - would have been great for long range shots but would have been hard to manoeuvre.
Hope you like this quick snap
