Did I dream it - New DSLR & Flash

Last week I seem to remember reading in the then current issue of Amateur Photographer (UK) about an interview with someone from Samsung.
As well as talk of where they (Samsung ) were hoping their share of the market was going there was mention of a new soon to be released flash and something about another DSLR.
The suggested - expected price of the flash was £299, no real time scale was given and nothing more was said about the DSLR.
Checking today there is a different issue out and of course no mention of these items.
Was I dreaming - did anyone else spot this news item?

Whatever, my imminent purchase of the Samsung flash may get put on hold for a bit now!

This thread has is interesting and may be a money saver. I have been working myself round to buying a flash gun and would have prob' gone for the AF360FGZ. As I also have a GX10 it looks like this would have been a poor move.
As an alternative - has anyone got the Sigma EF-500 DG Super and using it successfully with the GX10 as this seems to be the alternative to the dedicated Samsung unit?

Hi, I have just joined your very informative forum
We live in Darlington County Durham - Uk. I say we (wife and I), as we both enjoy our photography.

Please excuse the 'Title' we have a Samsung GX10 each and a GX 1S and a DL2.
The DL2 will probably have to go, so I am told, to offset the cost of the GX10's, but the GX1S may end up in the car all the time!

What do we do - travel when we can afford it! Our favourite place is Egypt, but we haven't found many places in the world we don't like or wouldn't go back to.

For those who are interested the are a few photos of ours to be found at molyball.net - nothing special - comments welcome.

Regards Molyball

How many people here use SAMSUNG models?

Hi, I'm new here!

Currently we have 2 x Samsung GX10 one Samsung GX1S and one Pentax DL2.

Originally brought the GX 1S when there was a cheap 2 lens offer here in the UK just before last Summer.
We would have liked another one but the offer had gone so brought a Pentax DL2 instead for my wife.

Then this year saw I the offer with Argos for the GX10 and twin kit lens @ £600 and went for it :)

We were out the following weekend taking photos and swapped cameras - Gx10 for DL2. My wife could immediately see the how much better it was for handling and responsiveness. This really meant the end of the DL2.

Unfortunately Argos no longer had any GX10's but a local camera shop had one in with one lens @£600. After pointing out that it was a bit dear compared to other retailers we got it with the 18-55 for £550 and a bit of muttering from him!

We are probabaly going to hang on to the GX 1S but not the DL2.

By the way I have no problem with the Samsung name on my camera which I feel may put off some people.

Regards Molyball
