Hi, I did not mean to offend anybody by doing a small surgery on the lens. In fact, I will buy the "expensive" adapter if I am shooting with Pentax all the time. I am just exploring the possibilities.

I have been using my Zeiss T* 50mm 1.4 C/Y mount on Canon EOS with adapter for a while. However, I always want to try it on my wife's pentax cameras without pay the "expensive" conversion kit.
Here is what I did to use it on pentax. Two out of the 3 silver color metal pieces as show in the 2nd and 3rd pictures were shaved for a little bit. I put some tapes under the silver color mount ring (unscrew the 3 screws) to rise it up.
Now I can fit the lens on the K20D! You need to be careful since the lens is not locked on the body.

I just received the 100mm WR lens today. It's in a box not an envelope with a single layer of bubble wrap. After I took the lens out and registered 7 years mack warranty, I played with the lens a little bit. The lens is surprisingly light weighted! Auto focus is horrible: slow and noisy.
I have a FA 100mm macro on the way. Will compare it with the WR version after I get the FA one.

I thought this info. might be useful for some body who are planning to buy the new metal barrel (DA limited style) lens.
I was looking for a macro lens to replace my Tamron SP 90mm adaptall-2 lens.
Then I found this brand new DFA WR 100mm macro with 8 yeas world warranty on xbay by seller prodigital2000.
After a napkin calculation: $521=$599-$48(bing)-$30(xbay bucks)
I can also sell my latest Tamron SP 90mm macro adaptall-2 version with the PKA mount for ~$150(lens)+~$70(PKA mount).
So for ~$300 out of my pocket, I upgraded my 100mm macro lens.
