It"s hard to relate settings as we all have different tastes in the end result but try reducing the contrast a couple of clicks on each one. Works for me and seems to give me more DR. I also warm the vivid and natural one click.

From what I"ve read and seen so far K5 seems to be the go, especially if you plan on keeping it for some years. I don't reckon you will regret the purchase. All the Best Dave

My thoughts on this subject are this: Using a dslr is more FUN !!!! Lots of decisions, lots of knobs and wheels and thingies. Something to conquer and it makes the brain work.
A P & S is just that ...point and shoot. BORING !!! :) Depends how you get your jollies......
Been there, done that.......

I"m seeing lots of posts over time from newbies struggling to find the "best" setting" for their K20d. This may apply to other models too...not sure.
Press FN, then OK and you"ll see which mode you"re in. Now, on each one click down to contrast and lower it two points.
Set the exposure mode to AV, with front wheel on ISO and rear wheel on aperture (you can set this in Custom menu.)
Also make sure that EV is set on 00.
Now run out to the garden and try it..if it doesn"t make an improvement I"ll give you your money back. Of course , you can always juggle the settings yourself. At the very least it will give you something constructive to do for an hour... Good luck :)

These books contain so much information, how the heck can one remember it all.??My head is swimming...
I can just picture the scenario....please wait five minutes before I take your photo whilst I try to remember everything I read in the book and fiddle with my multi knobbed /switched/buttoned dslr......:)
Oh yeah....and ten different lenses..
and one hundred lighting conditions..

The K20d is the same as the K200d plus some.... I owned the K200d for about six months and sold it to buy a lightly used K20d.
Never regretted it for a moment for lots of reasons....it will be a long time before I sell it.:p
Sooooo...if the repair is too expensive sell it and is and get a K20d. You won"r regret it.
Best of Luck Dave

These projects excite my imagination and questions pop into my mind...I was wondering that if the balloon had a pressure relief valve fitted, what would be the maximum theoretical height it could reach ?? Thanks for a wonderful series,,,
