Have just got a SMC Tak 50 1.4 and i just can't satisfy more with it. This lens is surprisingly sharp at wide open and super sharp if i stop down to f2.0 or above. Here're the proof :
@ 1.4
@2.0 (i think)
@8.0
Ah yes, though there's some yellow casting, but i consider it as the lens's characteristic and don't mind it at all. Cheers !

you're right Georg, i said 5cm it meant 5cm from the object to the font element :p . By that, i believe it will very easy to imagine the can-do ability of the lens :ugh:

You can follow this link to see some of my test shot with this lens.
Although minimum distance written on the lens is just 0.2m, but in fact, you can get closer, may be about 5cm i think

Yeah i agree, i'm quite sure that lens is for Olympus camera with OM mount. As you can see reference image from this site :
No doubt, they have the same 2 specific button on the apeture ring.
This is yours from quoted ebay:
Hope this will help you !

K100D with F 50mm f1.4 Some night shots with this fast lens - What can i expect more from this couple :
The f was around f2.0 to f2.8.
My F 50mm f1.4 soft and lots of flare under f2.0. But from f2.0 and over, it brings me a very good image with sharpness, smooth DOF, good color rendition. I sill like this one more than the FA version though they have a same optic. I wonder why people rarely talking about the F series ?

this one i post somewhere in this forum but i can't remember, so it would be my pleasure if i can re-post it here :
there're some dirt in front element, that's why the 1st picture have weird bokeh :)
p.s : images may be quite big but my flickr doesn't allow me to get more suitable size

I have this lens too. Its a nice lens with gentle color and good DOF. Its a gift from my father and i will never sell it to others. I'm using it with K100D. This lens is good for Close up, Landscape even indoor purposes on a crop body.
Here are some images i took with it : |
