Canon and Nikon don't even offer a Tav or Sv mode as a seperate setting. Forget having them add this. Really though, if you don't know enough about a camera to understand you should at least 'shoot your focal length', then you shouldn't own a DSLR.
, Err, Pros wouldn't use this for sure. They want to control what the camera does in terms of DOF control, noise levels etc

Yes it is but for Pentax photos. This was shot with a Nikon D700.

Changed the price? Was it at $1399? Things are so confusing, I can't keep track of what's going on with specs and prices.

Hard to add much more. Very good photography and a sad ending indeed. But from the look of the earlier shots, neither one was going to survive this battle.

Stewart Photo is a working Pro in Germany, It's not the same market, but he might be able to offer some advice.

OrenMc You should call him once more on our behalf and ask if he'd consider listing 20 or 30 of those "thousands" here. The $100 as a reseller is much cheaper than all the Ebay fees. I'm sure there are lots of buyers that would love a decent deal on an A series version of this lens.
Bet he could sell more than 50 here if he offered a fair deal. Maybe even a few group buys for shooters in larger cities than are in social clubs here on PF etc.

Now with MF, that grass is greener particularly if you like B&W as long as you have a good lab available. The GF1 has plenty of appeal.
I just wish I had $1500 kicking around in the penny jar.:(

Not sure I see that. It's a light green plant against a green background and I'm looking for a green (out)line? Tough to tell. But some of these older lenses will exhibit green or purple fringing in OOF areas.
As you already did, of course you should buy it. Especially if you can make a profit if it does not get used. I think there are 2 types of LBA
1) buying lenses just to increase the size of the camera bag and your signature line but you don't really use them.
2) buying up to a better lens that you use, that replaces another that you will sell to offset the costs. Thus increasing the quality of the camera bag instead of the quantity.
So if you liked the 85mm FL and the Tak is better, then you sell the Vivitar, that's really not a serious LBA issue.

You are absolutely right and look what Ashton Kutcher has done to Nikon and making them cool. I was at a wedding where 4 people had D5000's and a couple owners said they noticed the camera because of him. 2 were female owners that is a hugely untapped market.
Spend one $million and get that back tenfold in a month. I wonder what Brad Pitt's doing. He's got 53 kids to photograph :) Maybe Zac Efron.

Really nice series. The second shot is great and I like the boat with reflections.
