Great idea, I'll have to give that a try. Mine creeps of course. Great lens though.

It would be helpful for me and a friend to win, but this method sounds like it would not be good for signal to noise ratio.

Lately, the white-topped duraloops have been disappearing, replaced with the black-topped pre-charged rechargables, at the same price. However Target has then on sale for 7/four pack, instead of the usual 13/ four pack.
Thoughts?
Are these the Rayovac, if so are they worth it? Or has Sanyo changed their packaging?

Once again, it does not work. Windows 7 x64.
Are there any solutions?

The majority of the flower images do not seem to have this problem. However in them I had given a negative exposure compensation because the flowers are so brilliantly white compared to the foliage that they burn out otherwise.
It always seems to show up to some extent with branches against the sky, though the sample I uploaded is by far the worst.
I really hope that this is user error and that I can learn how to avoid this. I don't want to have to wait for sending it back and getting a replacement from Adorama, because now are the very few days of the best of spring around here.

Those are 100% crops. You want the original PEFs? Can I upload files that big here?
I will try. . .

What about digiscoping? Use a spotting scope as your lens.

This is interesting. I have the 28-200 and just got the 18-250. The chief problem I am having is a blue ghosting around objects, especially bright objects like mayflowers, branches against the sky, a birdbath, etc. I have not seen this in photos taken with the 18-250 by anyone else.
I -think- that the 18-250 is sharper, though. It seems to come from the camera at the same sharpness I have do produce in development with the sigma.
Do I have a bad copy? Should I do an exchange with Adorama? Or is this normal to the lens, and if so, how do I remove this in development?

Just got one, as I am often having to change lenses in windy, dusty conditions between the kit 18-55 II, and the Sigma 28-200.
Right away I am finding blue fringing. Horrible towards the sun, and on bright white mayflowers which are blooming now, at any angle, even present at 120 degrees from the sun.
Do I have a bad copy? I did not have this problem with the Sigma.
I do think it is sharper than the sigma.

I'm not sitting on the fence, but I don't feel it would be ethical to offer a trade for a lens I don't yet have in hand to inspect and verify. Or I would. :-)

I get front focus with -no- shim. . . Does that mean I should put the shim on the bottom side?

So, the shim goes 'on top' of the screen when the screen is in the popped-down position?
I got two tweezers, one plastic, but not the 'proper tools' such as I've seen demonstrated with poor camera angle and zoom on youtube.

I start having tremendous noise issues with my K200d at ASA 400. I know it isn't supposed to be like that. Now I have fixed the camera at ASA 100. Even then, after applying sharpening (and clarifying far more so) I get noise I have to remove.
Any helpful hints? I've worked with Neat Image, Greystoration and wavelet.
Maybe someday they'll put piezo coolers on the sensors. . .

It would be good to have confirmation on this. What improves front focus (which I have on my K200d with the Sigma 28-200), what improves back focus, and so on. Techniques for placement would be good, too. I don't think I have a surgeon's fingers.
Shim on top like the one that came with the camera and I didn't use when I put it back together with the jinfinance cats-eye (which hopefully is the full problem in my case?), or do you put it under the focussing screen, and so on.
Then maybe it can be written up clearly into an FAQ.

First I have to receive the smc A 50mm f 1.2 I snagged and evaluate it, take pics and sell it here before I could do this. (am I nuts? that is a classic lens)
