Thanks for your impressions on Samsung NX. Interesting to hear about autofocus, I guess there is a room for improvement. I am interested in NX system mostly due to their present and expected lenses. They all look great IMHO. On a side note, have you seen their upcoming 300mm f/2.8 (check photorumors.com)? Although I would never afford it, it's nice to see their commitment to the system.

Geeky is a good word to describe it. I just installed it out of curiosity and while the interface is slick, it takes some tweaking to get the results I want. The default look of my DNG files from GX20 is very dull. THere is definitely a learning curve. I am willing to try it though.

You need to remember that Lenstip (Optyczne.pl) always publish photos with the sharpness turned all the way down. You may want to sharpen the samples a little to get look you are used to from your photos.

Hi,
I did exactly the same. Sold FA 50 1.4 and DA 35Ltd for FA 43. No regrets so far. The FA 50mm felt always to narrow, and 35mm had annoyingly slow AF although the IQ was stellar at close distance. Focus near infinity was more tricky.

The automatic translations doesn't work that great, your message in Polish makes perfect sense, in English - not so much

FWIW I always travel with 15 and 43 and they work fine. I wouldn't mind adding 70 to it.

Thom Hogan says on his website that Pentax mirrorles will have 2.7 crop sensor. Sounds better than 5.6 but who knows if this is his speculation, or he actually knows something.

Thanks for your impressions. I haven't had a chance to play with any of these yet but I'd like to know what do you think of the electric viewfinder. Do you think it's a good substitute for an OVF?
Thanks, Marcin

Hi,
I used to have DA 35mm, sold it and bought FA 43.
While DA 35 was wicked sharp and great for manual focusing in macro distances, it was painfully slow to autofocus and had difficulties with achieving focus near infinity i.e. for landscape shots. Mind, it was with istDL2 which is IMO the slowest focusing Pentax DSLR ever. It didn't get much better when I bought GX20 though.
Slow focusing combined with my daughter growing and getting faster make me look for better option.
FA 43 is much faster to autofocus and IQ is great and slightly longer focal length is better for portraits. I miss sometimes the biting sharpness of DA 35. I don't think FA is quite as sharp. But it only matters when you pixel peep, the prints look great from both.
Anyway FA suits better my needs but DA is great as well. Whatever you choose will make great shots.
Sorry if it isn't very helpful,
Marcin

Well done, nice shots.
I also have done my first paid wedding using only da 15 and fa 43 and it turned out fine. Didn't feel constrained at all, although da 21 would be more useful than da 15.

I'm pretty sure that it's adjustment problem. I had the same with my russian lens. The fact that it works with other mounts supports it. Look for a way to adjust infinity range on focusing ring. If you are not confident enough to do it, give to professional but it should be relatively straightforward. I did it myself on my lens.

No, it has nothing to do with FF and APS. The mount is the same. You simply have to adjust the infinity on focusing ring. Can't give you specific instructions for this lens but look for set of screws that will let you adjust focusing ring.

I swapped DA 35 for FA 43 and couldn't be happier. DA 35 is a fine lens but I didn't like slow focus and dfficult manual focus nearer infinity. FA 43 suits me better for portrait and landscape shots, for macro works well with extension tubes. Again, it may be too close to 58mm, but only you can decide.
