Body only for $915 and you still get the free stuff.
Anyone need a K20D?

Ahh, yes. I have the #21520 version prior to the WR #21910. Still, best prices that I found on the #21520 lens was at Adorama for just under $600 and the WR #21910 on B&H for $699.95. Many places want much more for either.
We all should have invested in lenses when the market crashed! That's a great ROI on for lenses. Reminds me of the old days, when I was able to buy a Hasselblad and sell it back to the place I bought it from for a profit not even a year later.

Hello All:
Me and a buddy both got K20D's a little over a year ago. At the time, I bought a new USA Pentax D-FA 100mm f/2.8 Macro for $400. He went to look for the same lens a couple of weeks ago and they are almost double in price now!!!
What gives with the (Pentax) lens market? Why have the prices gotten so high?

Just curious . . . I am wondering if a G3 PowerBook 400 will run Remote Assistant? Mine runs OSX 10.4, but I will need to get a USB 2.0 CardBus adapter. Anyone try it by chance?
Any thoughts? It would be worth the $150 I could get on eBay for the PowerBook if I could use it as my RA laptop . . .

Man, I just sold my E+ K110D (not gray market) with kit lens for $250. I guess my buddy got a good deal. I paid $399 for it in April 1997, so I thought it was a fair price.
Anyhow, it's a fine camera. I used it to shoot pictures of bees on flowers and tabletop product shots to sell stuff on eBay and it worked great. Shoots RAW, which is cool. So, take the money savings, use it and save up for that K20D or K30D;)

Thanks for the replies. You all have got me psyched to shoot again. Even though I have my degree in photography, I haven't shot seriously (the K110D was used mostly for listing stuff on eBay:o) pretty much since I graduated 11+ years ago.
I think I'll try and get that MX up and running again! After all, I have three lenses for it. Perhaps they'll have a reunion tour yet!:D

Not sure if this is the right place to post . . . But, I have a SMC Pentax-M 50mm F1.7 lens that has been basically married to my MX body for many years.
Anyhow, it is very clean and operates smoothly. However, for some reason, it won't focus any further out than 1.2M. There are no kinks or scuffs that show up on the barrel and it looks "clear" through and I haven't tried to force it. What would be causing the focus to bind up?
These are the problems you encounter when you loan your camera to a teenager in high school Photography class:hmm: Perhaps it was bad luck?

Thanks! I found his site
Maybe, she'll live again? I also found on the boards where you can get affordable foam repair kits. So, it may be a no-brainer.
I am still interested in some thoughts about this camera's usefulness and shooting film in general. Perhaps this goes under another thread . . .
I have my MFA in Photography and have a history with film. I hate the idea of giving it up. If any of you are still shooting film, why haven't you?
I feel like I should repair it, even if I plan to sell it. I just feel like the camera still has a life worth living. Even if I don't shoot it--perhaps there is a student or another who will?

Well, I just got a K20D after selling a K110D. So I figured I'd dust off the old MX and see how it was working. It looks great, but the mirror sticks in anything slower than 1/125. I also noticed the mirror foam is flaking. Other than that, everything else looks tight. I have a grip, and three lenses.
Should I save it? If so, where do you recommend it get repaired in the US? Otherwise, I'll list it on eBay. It's a great camera and has taken some amazing shots (IMO). Is it worth a second life?
