Forum: Pentax K-3 & K-3 II

Hey all, been meaning to buy a K3 sometime in the next two months, in addition to my K5, ready for the summer festival season. Wasn't aware of the K3-II announcement until I checked today, and am now wondering what the best way to do this is...
Is it likely that K3 prices will plummet now as people free up funds, or would it be best to wait until after it's released?
appreciating any advice
Callum

Okey thanks everyone for the help - is there a way to save flash strength as part of a camera USER setting? it's annoying having to redo the flash intensity if I have to turn off the flash for any reason in manual mode?

Hi, im looking for some advice with nightlife photography. The effect i'm after is the classic trailing lights. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=1426618117567870&set=pb.141556532533...type=3&theater
I thought I was using correct settings;
K5
Af540FGZ
Sigma 17-70mm or 10-20mm 4-5.6
1/2-1/5 shutter
f/5.6
100 ISO
Flash and camera set to trailing curtain sync. Move the camera at the lights to begin with, then compose for the flash. However the flash fires once at the start, and then again at the end of the shot. This seems to me like it's ruining the shot as it overpowers all the light trails i'm trying to bring in at the start of the shot.
Can anyone give any advice? I've checked the setting and there doesn't seem to be anything relevant.
Thanks for any help

Looks like I will also be joining the 645 crowd. As a penniless student its the only real way for me to get into medium format, also my first format into film at all ^^.
May be a stupid question.
Okey it's a stupid question;
But does the larger 120mm film mean that the same DOF shallowing effect that you see on full frame sensors will be apparent, compared to my K20D?

Just for clarifications sake, this is functioning lens, but with a back-focusing problem, which is unfix-able, but can be worked around?
Thanks!

Tamron AF 2x Teleconverter Asking Price
70 GBP (Open to offers) Item Description
Bought this TC about two years ago, before i really grew to understand lens optics (ZOMG TELECONVERTER WITH AUTOFOCUS?!?!1111), needless to say, with a sigma 70-300mm f/4-5.6, this thing has spent a lot of time in my bag. Not trying to put this TC down though, I've had a few converters, this one has the least degradation of IQ I've seen, I had the idea of removing the elements, creating an auto focus extension tube to stick on my sigma 17-70mm, although I never got up the nerve/skill...
Before buying, please check your lens will auto focus with this converter, I've had 2 returns already, needless to say, I've learned my lesson with Evilbay. I will not accept returns due to buyers failing to check lens compatibility . Excellent condition, one or too small cosmetic scuffs. Will ship anywhere at cost (except Nigeria).
Any questions/comments/blatent holes in my sale, hit me up :) Are you the original owner of the item being sold?
No Are you selling or trading this item?

First submission, I tried to check out the voting procedure, but if I've done anything wrong, please drop me a pm :D
Taken during a ski trip earlier in the year, this is Mont Blanc, from the french side, don't think i need to state what Season i have in mind :)
K100D, lens kit, just wish I had my K20D and Sigma 17-70mm :(
Look forward to seeing some other entries!
EDIT: Oh yes, upped the contract, upped the blacks, upped blue vibrancy, added a slight vignette and a small radial blur just to draw the eye to the middle, as far as i'm aware this is allowed.

My entire life's earnings so far would just pay for a full copy of CS3, so it doesn't bother me, although admittedly my PS experience did get me a higher paid job...

I wish, not only do I live in Oxfordshire, I'm close family friends of the family of Phil Selway, which aside from being my 'claim to fame' means Iv'e seen radiohead more than...15 times, and served each of Radiohead more than once at christmas parties.
I don't even like Radiohead that much.
Anyway, leaving tommorow to start my 12 hour shifts, after signing a form agreeing to waive my rights regarding shift length and break length.
It's a fun life.
