Line of sight shouldn't matter, (I never had a problem before) but yes its only a few feet away. Batteries are alkaline from the dealer!.. Maybe different codes work better than others? Codes as in the pin code on trigger and receiver.

Hi guys, i recently bought the cactus flash trigger V4 for my K5 and AF540. I had a no name brand before and it worked great but lost the reciever! Now onto cactus and it SUCKS! It may fire once out of 8, 9 shots if I'm lucky. I brought it in to Henrys, a photography store and they looked it over settings were all good, batteries are brand new, Cant figure this out.. if anyone has any tricks up there sleeve I'm ready to hear them!! Thanks!

Thanks, love the feedback! We are the Nickel Capital of the world! Based out of Sudbury, Ontario, Canada. The Sudbury basin is actually an old meteor!! We produce mostly Nickel with quite a bit of Copper and then all our precious medals as well. Our mill produces on average 27,000 tonnes of ore a day! :)

I work for a mining company, the last picture are 8 Ball Mills filled with steel balls, and two rod mills, that spin quite quick and they crush and obliterate rock into tiny particles!

Tried out some HDRs at work for the first time and I think they come out pretty good. Little bit of Lightroom and mixed in Photomatix.. Enjoy!

so i was recently on a trip to the dominican, shooting the gf playing in the water when she wanted to play with the camera. So shes sitting on shore taking pictures with my K5 while im out jumping the waves, when i rogue wave completely takes her out including my camera. completely submersed she drops it, praying that itll be ok!!! (Im also there to shoot her best friends wedding the next day!) So we clean it up and dry it off allowing it a few minutes to clear itself in the sun.. Fire it up and of course it still works perfectly!! I still feel the odd salt particle when zooming with the lens but other than that its great and all the wedding photos came out beautifully!!! Thanks Pentax!!

Thanks I will have to try this and play with it more. I find the wireless in flash doesn't work that well! Are there any good websites, books even that focuses on flash, using the settings, etc. the Digital photography books by Scott Kelby are fantastic for photography but I'd like to focus on using my flash and use it more. I like the distances you can shoot with a trigger for crazy ideas!!!

Ok,.. So I was playing with this flash with an older manual lens, a 50mm f1.4. Such a great lens!! But I put my 16-55SDM f4 on and it works exactly how I wanted, other than not being able to shoot faster than 1/180! I need to shoot with smaller apertures to get a nice dark picture.. Also, I'm not sure if it's the trigger, but I can't reduce the power output on the flash itself.. Unless Im just dumb!!!!!!

So I've recently picked up a flash trigger for my AF 540 flash. What I can't figure out is how to fire the flash in manual or any mode other than AV. And maybe it's the flash but I can't shoot faster than 1/180. The trigger is from Flashfire.. Photo flex.com (I bought at Henry's and was told its a descent unit). I dont shoot a lot of flash and need to learn so much about it.. Maybe I'm doing something wrong?!!! Please help!!!!!

Its just an idea i'm throwing around right now, I live in a city of about 170K people, and theres not really anything like this here at all. I could also get into doing business, schools, partys, bacholorettes, etc. I already have wholsalers lined up for some of the hillarious shirts out there, and then can do so many customs. Its a start, and I see the potential to expand huge. I'm not really looking to sell on the web, but mostly advertise on it so people know us. Theres some great shops in Toronto that are doing fantastic, and its just a fun idea, so much flexibilty!!!

If you were thinking of opening a custom t-shirt business, without franchising, what would you call it???
Interested in the replies :)
