Eventually, pepperberry farm will start adapting medium format lenses to the Fuji. I have adapted Pentax 67, Arsat, Bronica, Leitz Colorplan, and Nikon EL-Nikkor lenses to Pentax 645z. The thinner Fuji body allows even more fun.

The 400 lens also had the Pentax 645 1.4 teleconverter. This image is cropped some. The shutter speed was actually 1/400 but the drop down menu wouldn't let me select that. The lens aperture was set to F8 and the teleconverter subtracted 1 stop of light.

This is strange. Most astronomers say mylar film solar filters are sharper than glass filters. On another note, I got a Lunt 40 solar scope for Christmas. It has 4 separate filters for visual safety. Won't be using it for the eclipse.

Completed the survey. Basically said they dropped 2 (Q, 645) of the 3 Pentax systems I use. Unfortunately, this will make it very difficult to interest me in any new camera.

Pentax Q7 with #06 telezoom. 45mm ISO 200 F2.8 1/80. Wish I'd had camera set to ISO 400 but wasn't expecting to see a raccoon when looking over the bridge side.

I understand both sides. Unfortunately, Pentax no longer makes medium format cameras. Ran into the same problem years ago with the Pentax Point & Shoot contest forum. To keep it alive we allowed all brands, even cellphones. No one seemed to care. The contest still survives and is even mentioned in the Pentax forums e-mails. We are grateful for that.
It stings that the company responsible for driving Pentax out of the medium format market now has a large presence here. On the other hand, at least our Pentax lenses are useable on Fuji. With Pentax leaving the market it is hard to not feel a little sad.
How about PentaxForums? Since two moderators shoot Pentax 645Z and frequent this thread, I doubt posting pictures from other camera brands is officially frowned upon. We should also consider the welfare of PentaxForums. With Pentax leaving the Q and medium formats and the encroaching cellphones it can't be as easy to break even on these forums. More visitors are better. There are prize giveaways and even weekly email updates on content posted here. Do we really want to reduce posts and weaken this fine home?
I enjoy the forum and the medium format pictures and hope it stays as is.
Thanks,
barondla

This was a difficult competition to judge. All the images are strong and well executed. The two runner ups are Ariff's mountain scene and sjstafford's lovely cloud image. Both are beautiful photos.
The winner is rm2's amazing picture. The composition is spectacular. The photographer only had a split second to balance so many subject elements. Wonderful capture. Now rm2 gets to set up and run competition #191.
Thanks to everyone that participated in this competition. All the photos were excellent. Hope you join us for the next one.

New neighbors! Saw this while walking out my front door. This is why I put up with slow internet. Pentax 645Z with SMC Pentax 645 FA 300 F5.6 ED [IF]. Handheld at 1/160 F5.6 ISO 3200. Cropped very slightly to remove bright sky streaming thru the leaves.

Don't think Ricoh made an official announcement. They just discontinued all the 645 lenses and bodies. Q all over again. This doesn't bode well for their DSLR only plans. What's next, full frame or APS-c?
Thanks,

Nice images. Welcome to the Q. It is amazing what the little guy can do. You may know this, there is a way to cheat the 2 second time limitation, a little. Put the Q on multiple exposure and you get 2 seconds 9 times. Don't have a Q in front of me, but one of the ME settings allow for brightening the image.
I am going to try some solar photography with the Q. I have a Lunt 40 solar telescope arriving for Christmas. Looking forward to it.

First day off in ages without rain, and there's 20-30 mph wind. Sigh. Decided to work with it.
Two minute exposure with Pentax 645Z and 645 HD35 lens at F3.5 and ISO 100. Welding hood filter provided neutral density. It isn't very neutral - everything turns green, but it reduces light by 16 stops! Worth the .25 cents invested on closeout. Attached to a Cokin P holder via rubber bands.
Wanted to capture the trees sharp at the base and progressively softer further up the tree. Too many trees were confusing. Cropped the horizontal to vertical. Shot from the house, otherwise nothing would have been sharp.

No theme combined with amazing entries made this a difficult contest to judge. After spending the day viewing all the entries I finally selected Port Of Everett by tuco as the winner. The light blue boat looks great against the warm hue sunset. Very 3D and natural. Congratulations tuco.
All the entries were great. You guys made it tough on me. Thanks for participating and making the contest fun.
Looking forward to tuco's contest.
