The F 50mm 1.4 at 1.4 is already very sharp.
The pores are visible.
It is so sharp that it doesn't have that soft (flattering) effects for portraits even wide open.
Not sure of the FA version though

Hi guys
I am looking for actions for Photo Shop version 3.
Wondering if you have any to share or maybe point me in the right direction.
Looking for editing actions and borders ATM such as vintage look, classic (dark) look, cross processing etc.
Considering free actions ATM.
If none is available, I am probably willing to spend about $10-20 for a collections of excellent actions.
Thank you in advance.

Hi
I am looking for an FA 31mm MIJ with no issues such as softness wide open, front focus / back focus etc.
Optics must be in perfect condition.
Shipping to Perth, Australia.
Thanks.

Thanks for all the replies.
Thanks Raider. I tried to "invest" on lenses following the suggestions from many ppl. Buy the fast lenses so no need to upgrade later on.
Thanks Mel. That's what I'm thinking...maybe use the 70-200 for wedding.
Thanks mate. That's exactly right...I've tried using the 85 or 135 but they are not versatile enough.
Peter, they are the FA 28-70 and FA 85.
I have a K7 and an *ist DS as back up (might pick up a K20D later).
What fast prime do you often use?
Do you need to use 3 bodies? 2 for zooms (17-50 and 70-200) and 1 fast prime?
I'm hoping to get a second shooter / assistant to help with weddings.
cheers

I would recommend getting the F 35-70mm. It costs USD 40-50 for a good copy, sometimes even cheaper on ebay.
At least you'll get the feel before spending more on FA limited lenses.
And you can always sell the F 35-70mm for the same price you bought it at when you are not using it anymore.
The F 35-70mm has the right amount of color, contrast and sharpness to begin with. Moreover, the price is right (for me at least) :)

Hi
I am learning about photography and hoping someday I'll start making money from it.
I'd like to start with doing portraits and get into wedding photography later on.
I have a few zooms and primes:
17-50mm 2.8
28-70mm 2.8
35mm 2.0
50mm 1.7
85mm 1.4
135mm 2.8
Currently, i use 28-70mm most of the time along with the 85mm.
I reckon I am missing a long zoom.
How critical is the 70-200mm 2.8?
Can you not live without it?
What are the options? (AF lenses only please)
Sigma / Tamron 70-200 or DA 50-135?
Any other option?
Thanks.

Bump for this great lens

It is 10mp but what I didn't expect is the noise is quite evident (noticeable when compared). I was expecting it to be somewhat worse than K200D but not as bad as it actually is.
Needless to say, I am disappointed. But that is only one aspect of a great camera :)

I feel only one thing is lacking with K7, that is the noise at high ISO.
I used K200D for quite a while and I'd say that its pics are cleaner than K7 are at the same (high) ISO.
It's also evident when the shadow is made brighter, the noise (chroma noise ?) is worse compared to K200D.
I don't know if this is particular to my K7 only but it really bothers me to the point of thinking I should try K20D for a comparison.
Is K20D better in this regard?

This is one of few first shots ever with a DSLR.
Had only one lens M 50mm f 2.0 that was bought at a local market.
Can't remember how much I paid for it but it was cheap :)
I think this one was shot wide open but I'm not sure.
I remembered I was so happy to have a dslr camera and this lens :D
I should have stick with this one lens instead of looking at lenses review and the forum market ;)

This was taken during my trip to Singapore.
It was before the new casino with flying garden (is that the name?) opened.
I'll probably go there again sometime to see it :D
What do you think?
Does it make you hungry? :)

Great shots
Congrats :D
Could you please share your setting?
Did you use program P or TAv or else?
What was the shutter speed, aperture and ISO?
Did you use continous high burst?
Handheld or tripod?
Thanks :)

I'm new at photography so please don't take my comment too seriously :D
For me there's a bit too much sky / clouds.
Maybe crop it to panoramic? Or maybe close to rule of thirds.
Nice colors but I'd increase the contrast and/or luminance slightly. :)
thanks for posting

Sorry for my stupid questions.
The first 4 pics, were they done with wide angle lens?
To me the girl looked really weird since her legs were longer than her torso + head (pics 3 & 4).
Is that what she actually looks like?

Adam,
I have just put up a review on the Asahi Close Up Lens no. 1.
But when I click the edit button, this came up,
"You have already reviewed this accessory!
Please click the back button and edit your review instead of posting a new review."
(But I did click on the "Edit" button, not the "Add Review" button. I tried thrice just to make sure :))
