New member would like to say hello to all, also thank you for this forum I recently bump onto.
I recently bought a used Takumar 6x7 300mm lens in very good condition with the exception of the rear circular plate that has the rectangular cutout lose and falls out. Question: is the plate needed or do I need to fix it permanently back to it's original state.
I am thinking the previous owner used it with out this plate installed. With out it reflective light would be unrestricted back to the shutter curtain.
Any advise would be well appreciated, again thank you for this great forum for Pentax users, planning on a donation soon.
