Therefore, no one can identify it.
No identity = unidentified
it is flying.
It is an object of some sort whether small and close or far and larger.

I do know about XPressPost, Priority Post and Expedited Shipping... I've used them all at some point and of course the difference in in rate$$$$ is astronomical.
Fine for very costly items and/or urgent ones but the "regular" shipping is what I'm talking about here and the difference in shipping times between cities in Canada vs between a city in Canada to the USA..

Hi folks.
Just a bit of complaining about shipping time within Canada vs shipping from Canada to the USA:
Sent a lens from Québec (Canada) to British Columbia (Canada): expected delivery via "regular shipping" was 3 weeks !!!
I really got worried about this. Who knows? It could have been lost, damaged, sent somewhere else, etc .
Well ... it took 5 weeks!!
Sent another lens, this time from Québec (Canada) to Florida (USA): expected delivery time via "regular shipping": 2 weeks. Why is that? It should actually take longer because of the customs. :hmm:
The lens actually reached its destination ... in ... 5 Days!!
Go figure!

Well, at least there is a general agreement with the use of f2.8 but other elements came into play here.
Next time, try smaller aperture and don't be afraid if the ISO goes up as your K3III can handle that well.
I have had good results under such conditions even with f5.6.
To try pushing it to f8 or f10 will obviously require higher ISO and you might get into grainy results but, of course, all that can be handled in PP.

Agreed that the preceding shots were "somewhat in focus"(they all look a bit soft) albeit better than the last one.
This last shot though ... hard to tell why it (the camera or the operator) "behaved" that way compared to the rest of the series but I still believe it is overall caused by the combination of the conditions surrounding the scene.
Could it be that you moved (panned) differently at the end of your sequence? Could it be that for this last shot that you stopped panning all of a sudden?
Not sure ... maybe someone else will have a different perspective.

The combination of f2.8 and over-the-water (condensation or some other humidity factor), the lack of contrast overall (cloudy sky that day?) and the distance would likely cause this sort of situation.
This looks OOF but it could well be "just because" of the elements described above.
I have had my fair share of shots taken "over the water" and at some distance ... certainly the wide open aperture did not help either.
Maybe I'm out to lunch with my impression(s)but that is what I think was going on.
Why were your first shots previous to this one were "somewhat in focus" ? ... would be nice to see those first shots to compare with this last one.

I'll try not to post my best shots then ... :p
Yeah, going out "in the wild" is becoming a real adventure, even when I have the energy and the guts to do it.

Funny story with that magpie ... heart attack? !!
We're also very much retired but I am finding it tough to get walking around in the winter to go shooting, unfortunately.
The best I can manage is to drive around and hope for the best- getting suspiciously fragile in the cold.
So, thanks again!

Thanks a bunch, Les !
Those two were "luck shots" since I was driving by and they happened to be quite close.
The Snowy was very quiet ... I could have probably been able to walk toward it at close range but I didn't want to upset her!
The Gyrfalcon .... always seem to be around that same area years after year; I wonder if that is the same one for the past few years ???
... very nervous of course.... I walked toward it while aiming the camera and took some shots. Seemingly, according to some local photographers, I am the "lucky one" ! ;)
I wish I had a 500mm lens though but, on the other hand, I don't know if I would be able to hold it up while walking and aiming at the "target"!
Best wished to you and your close ones for the year 2022!:)

Thanks for the comment :)
The gyrfalcon (largest falcon) is a far North bird and comes "South" during the winter, so I am not surprised if you are not familiar with it where you reside! ;) ---------- Post added 01-02-22 at 03:51 PM ----------
Thanks. :)
Yes it was cold and wintery but certainly not as cold and snowy as we normally have it this time of the year.
This has been an ongoing phenomenon over the past few years ...
I suppose this has something to do with climatic changes (educated guess)?

With the loss of a close one a few days ago here, this comes as a shock to me .... I am not very good at expressing myself in those sort of situations but be assured that I feel for you.
We all hope that this transplant will become a reality for you very soon and that the "Powers That Be" will bring renewal.
Best wishes Steve.
