SIGMA 10-20mm CLUB

I recently got a Sigma 10-20mm f/4-5.6 but was disappointed after testing it at home under controlled environment. Even at f8-11 and 16mm, it was distant from DA16-45 or DA*16-50 at the same apertures and focal lengths. May be my copy was unusual but at 10mm and f4, the images were absolutely useless, having tried it on two different bodies.

But I've been reading and watching this thread for a while enough to want to give it another shot so I've packed the lens to be shipped back to the vendor as soon as I get the Return Authorization. Hopefully I will get a better copy of the same lens or the HSM version, depending on what they say and what they have available.

Damn, I missed reading these K-5 forums -- it is almost like going to circus and watching clowns and trained animals repeat the same thing over and over!

And oh, I am happy to report that a stupid tree rat hit my fender the other day on my way to work! It just disintegrated on impact, but not before leaving a bit of a mess on my car:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D I wish it got under my tires instead but oh well, there is always another time!

If you haven't been there yet, Washington D.C. is within that radius and you could, hypothetically, wear out your camera shutters before you ran out things to shoot!

Just too many things to list, but you could easily spend a day or two along the National mall just shooting photos -- from the Capitol Building to the Lincoln Memorial, and then you have numerous museums, the White House, many historical buildings in downtown DC, National Cathedral, Georgetown area, National Cemetery...

Its a shame that I live here and haven't done that yet since I took up photography :o

Anyone who has owned a K-5 and experienced QC issues has every right, just like anyone else, to voice their opinion about the product.

To come out and say they are rubbish just because your copy has not had problems is pure garbage. You do not have any more right to voice your opinion without giving the same right to others.

Guess the K-r and K-5 forums will, or should go away as soon as they are out of production then....

Cool!
