Thank you both! I did what you suggested, and it seems to be working! Still a little slow when it's not in live view, but hopefully it will get better.

My Pentax 50-135 sdm lens won't auto focus. I noticed it slowing down while it tried to focus a while ago. I've read on here that there is somebody that changes them to screw drive focus? I saw it a few months ago, but now I can't find that thread! (This forum is huge!) I would appreciate any help in finding this person. Thanks!

Sigma lens scratches on K1

Please don't "yell"at me! I know this topic is on this forum somewhere, but I can't find it. I've recently purchased a Pentax k1. It's an amazing camera. I have a Sigma 150-500mm that I use for eagles. I've been reading about Sigma lenses scratching the camera. I've been in contact with Sigma repair. They will fix the lens (for free), if I mail it to them. He told me that the lens will not harm the internal workings of the camera. It's just a cosmetic scratch on the exterior. I know some of you have had this issue with your lenses, or I wouldn't have read about it! Is it worth sending it back if it's just cosmetic? I wouldn't want to risk using the lens if it's more than that. But, I also don't want to risk losing or damaging my lens in shipment. Opinions please?

Thank you! I'm sure I'll be asking a lot of questions, and googling a lot of the photography terms! My k7 was pretty simple to figure out. I'm not so sure about the k1! I haven't been able to transfer my pictures to my computer because the cable that was included with the camera doesn't fit! I'm impatiently waiting for the cable that I've ordered from B&H to arrive, so I can view my pictures!

Thanks for the welcome!

Hi all! New to this forum but I've owned Pentax cameras for about 9 years. I recently purchased the k1, and I think I'm in over my head! I've always thought, when purchasing a new camera, buy what you can afford! I'm just an amateur photographer. I think what I've just purchased is a very expensive "point and shoot"! I still have my k7, so if I get too frustrated I'll just go play with it until I cool back down! I'm sure I'll have many questions.

I just got my K10D, and now have to figure out how to get the great pictures that I've seen others take with this camera! I'm moving up from a Fujipix point & shoot, so there are a lot of bells and whistles here that I have not had to figure out before!

I hope that I don't drive you all crazy, but I'm sure I'll have lots of questions!
