Agreed. I like the first and the last pictures.
As for the rest, IMO, it is a wee over exposed and like kevin mentioned, low saturaturation. Well, that is Guangzhou.

I used to carry my dSLR previously.
Nowadays only the trusty ol' compact but not all of the time. Sometimes I find something to shoot and somedays nothing to shoot about.

IMO, I believe the CA you are seeing is from the lens itself. The lens is from an old film camera lens that was never very well corrected for CA in a dSLR. I agree with wildman assessment that CA wasn't a big deal in film days but in today's digital technology, sensors are much more sensitive to CA than film. So I think it is not the TC's fault, more from the lens.
Like wildman's suggestion, try the TC on a lens made for dSLR and see the difference (if any). Also try to take a different picture to explore the CA as the current picture shows a very small CA only.

Yes, for such a large lens, you will need a fairly sturdy ball head joint and a strong tripod as well.

I do agree with Kirivon's view in the first paragraph.
The criteria in selecting a tripod - stability and ease of use.
And please bear in mind, "you pay peanuts, you get monkey", ie you get what you pay for. And for anything less than $50, IMO, I would not recommend any tripod in that price range to anyone as most cheap tripod will not withstand the load / usage/ test of time. Many a times, the people who bought a sub $50 tripod will be in the market again, looking for a new tripod to replace the old one.
My recommendation is to look for a good tripod (either new, if you have the budget or used) with a good head.

A good lens there, the 300mm.
Agreed with atupdate's comments. The glass butterfly need some sharpening as if it looks to be in focus. A closer crop, IMO , will make it look nicer.
The second wa very nicely done. Only flaw in the picture is the rooster, which was not inline with the boy and his dog.
Anyway very good result from the 300mm.

Very nicely done. I love the ghostly look of the subject.
IMO, this picture can be further improved if the sky with the clouds have a wider range of contrasts and overall, add a wee graininess in it.

Very nicely done for an abstract piece of work.
I love the depth to the image brought about by the water drops but overall, can be improve, IMO , if you enhance a wee bit on the contrasts.

It depends. If you like the wider side of your kit lens, you may probably want to try the followings :
1) some primes like DA15 which is very compact, or DA14 for its speed
2) some of the zooms like 12-24mm, with some close-up capability or the Tamron 10-24mm for its price.

Yes, I agreed with nosnoop's comments.
The entry level as well as affordbility plays a major part in capturing the dSLR market.
As for the FF market, IMO , the reason most people don't own one is the price. Price is the only reason I don't have one. If the price was lower, I think many APS-C owners would already own one.
If Pentax comes out with a FF, I think I will be one of the early one to get it. I just think price is the main reason why many people do not own a FF with any manufacturer.
IIMO, I would like to have a FF camera as my main camera and a APS-C camera as back-up. Lenses to fit both bodies so I can interchange them.

That is a good price for both limited edition lenses.
As for their quality, I wouldn´t be worried as the Limited lens built is normally better than the normal lens.
Most Pentax lenses in the last 3 years were made either in the Philipines or Vietnam.

Almost exclusively, I used center weighted. For zooming in close, I normally used spot. For wide and especially taking landscape of natures, I will use matrix.
I do agree with a fellow forum member who commented that "None of these modes changes the actual meter reading, only what parts of the metering field is used for your exposure. Spot for instance, only meters the center area."
