I finally pulled the trigger on the Ownuser grip, regardless of having to have the side door open to use it. Glad I did. I attached an L-grip as well, which adds protection for the open door. The door is between the camera body and the L-grip. I'm loving this set up! |

Hey FotoPete -
Thanks for the great idea! I was hesitant to buy the Ownuser grip based on the 'open door' but after seeing your set-up, I pulled the trigger on the grip and set mine up the way you did. After purchasing, I realized how having the open door really isn't a problem at all that I could see, but adding the L-grip not only adds protection but also allows me to easily carry/hold the camera and gives the whole setup a great feel and look.
I'm loving this battery grip for it's awesome power and the 2 left & right vertical shutter buttons!
Thanks a million!

My name is Chris and I reside in Cleveland, Ohio. I am 44 yrs old and just beginning my photography hobby.
I have always loved photography but never invested into a decent camera until recently.
I would love if anyone out there could give me some tips on the best way to get up and running. I would someday love to have a career in photography.
Please let me know the best way to get there (classes/courses, equipment needed, etc.)
I currently am trying to learn to use my first "non p&s camera" - a K100D. I also purchased 2 lenses - the 18-55mm kit lens, a 50-200mm zoom and also the 360 Flash.
Thanks.
