This part is funny, I've also decided to give away my K-01 to my brother and go back to my beloved K200D. Something about that camera is just magical.

Ricoh could easily fix this, make the "Pentax" on the front displayed with LED's and make an option to change that to Canon or Nikon via user menu :lol:

If they design the camera in-house (thus not having to pay the designer), go with a more traditional or even a retro design, and improve the small things that people complained about - I think Pentax would have a very successful K-02.

- The camera is a blast with manual glass and all those AF problems go away. For someone who wears glasses, the LCD is actually better than OVF.
- Haven't had a single problem with the rubber flap, you might not be inserting it properly.
I've been so impressed with K-01 High ISO performance (compared to my K200D) I've replaced my fast glass with slower but more compact counterparts and am very happy.

I think the blue K-30 is the coolest looking camera of all time... next to the cherry red 645D of course.
Wish the K-30 was at the price level of K-01, then I'd jump on that. Alas, have to live with the yellow brick, which is cool in its own way too. :cool:

Like your shots, the bokeh is very cool. I've actually been interested in this lens as well after seeing that one review, but I just haven't seen it come up on eBay, may be some day I'll get my hands on it!

Your pictures look perfectly fine to me...
At 50mm 1.4 is a bit soft and low on contrast, so it might look like it is not in focus.

From what I've seen, I really like this camera, especially the lemon one. The only thing I'm worried about is manual focusing using liew-view, anyone have experience with that?

Well the mirror problem can be solved easily - have the K01 make the sound of mirror flopping and vibrate accordingly.

I say get the M 50mm, the 8-element Tak is very overrated. Unless of course the curiosity of using the 8 element Tak is killing you, why not get both and sell one after you try em?

Scrolled through the whole thread, and was surprised to see no photos from A 28mm F2, is it not popular or just rare?. Just acquired this lens recently and already have a history with it. Anyway, these two were quick photos before I took the lens apart to lube the focus, which was very stiff - took me like a month to put the lens back together, very tricky bastard indeed.
Very good sharpness wide open, may be even better than my K 28mm f3.5. But I don't think I'd make a good portrait lens, too much curvature and the bokeh is a bit wicked.
