I just bought a K-3 II. One of the first things I do after purchasing a new camera is to see if there is an update to the firmware. When I searched I found nothing for the K-3 II but a multitude for the K-3. Do I use the K-3 firmware updates on the K-3 II? My instinct says no but my instinct is also surprised that there is no new software for a camera that has been on the market for a few months.
So, is the proper firmware for the K-3 II Version 1.00? Is there new firmware specifically for the K-3 II? Do I use the K-3 firmware updates with the K-3 II?

A fair question and one I should have addressed in the original post. Two years ago my best friend and I decided that we would realize a mutual dream and go on safari together. We planned and prepared for the trip, and one of his purchases was a photographic kit, including the Bigma. During all the excitement and anticipation, his wife walked out on him. While her departure had nothing (or at least very little) to do with the trip, I felt a moral and financial obligation to him. So, I bought his whole kit.
The one benefit of all this turmoil is that I got back into taking pics. But, as I hinted in the original post, I've accepted that I won't be going on safari. So, I'm selling parts of the kit that I purchased from him. I suppose that I omitted this description initially because I didn't want to put ti down in black and white. At the same time I wanted to be honest with potential buyers and say truthfully that I was not the original owner.
If the story seems melodramatic, well, it is. Nevertheless, it's true; just as it's true this is a practically unused Bigma selling at a steep discount. So, if you're put off by the background behind the lens, I guess I can understand. I'm just trying to be a decent friend and fledgling photographer.

Item Description
Up for sale is the Sigma APO 50-500mm f4-6.3 EX DG telephoto lens, the famous and singular Bigma. It must be classified as used, though that word does not adequately describe the condition of this lens. It was purchased for an African safari but the trip was never made. Not only has it not been on the veldt, it has never been out of the house. Literally. I can honestly say it has only been on a camera four or five times, and never outdoors.
At this point in my shooting development I do not need a lens of this length and quality. And, I have finally accepted that I won't be going on that safari in the near future. Hence, it is on the auction block.
The lens has no marks, no signs of use at all. It has spent the past year in its plastic bag inside its case. As I type this, the Bigma retails for $1049 at Amazon. My price is $825 plus $50 for shipping and insurance. Please PM me if you have questions. By the way, I was considering taking some sample pictures with the lens but decided I would rather be able to say that it has never been used. If you would like me to take some sample pics to show the power of this lens, let me know and I'll take it for a spin.
The other lens in the pictures is a SMC-A 50mm f1.7. It is in the picture for reference of scale and is NOT included in this sale. Thanks for looking.

My name is Will and I have just entered the world of Pentax. eBay has provided me with a K10d, 50mm A f1.4, 28mm M f2.8, 135mm M f3.5 and a Lester Dine Kiron 105mm f2.8. I am a total rookie and am enjoying just taking one lens then heading out to find what I will find. I have lurked here for a month or two but decided it was time to come in out of the cold.
