Thanx for the comment Racer.
Checked out your gallery/profile. Seems we have a bit in common.
We are having a heat wave here (35 f) so maybe the regular fury guys will be out and about.
Have a great holiday, Dusty

Squirreluck: A nearly extinct pre-historic creature with the body of a duck and the mind of a squirrel Still found in the Squam Lake area of NH, they thrive and play in the snow and have no real need for water. Unable to climb trees they do however enjoy a strict diet of mostly gravel and fallen acorns. Next I will try luring them back by placing some peanut butter out and about.
Regards, Dusty
P.S. I promise not to do this again but just couldn't resist just this one time.

Hi Tim,
Welcome !!!
Not sure what part of NH you are from, but if the Plymouth area you might get in touch with the local club there. Their web site is as follows: comunityphotoclubnh.com

It looks as if you took the pics immediately one right after the other.
Could this be recycle time? Taking a picture too soon one right after the other may not be giving enough time for the flash to recycle for the second picture. especialy if the batteries are low.

Thanks Tanzer.
That's exactly what I my question was !
So it looks like in Pentax case atleast, The factory ships seperatly to each supplier and not necesarly to Pentax web based store housing first and then distributed. Is that what you are saying?
Happy New Year, Dusty

Thank you Adam and Tanzer.
I have purchased cameras and such from both of the companies you mentioned in the past with great results but my actual question was, which source would likely provide the LATEST / most CURRENT production of body or lens.) Large authorized dealer or manufacturer web site? In particular, Pentax, Nikon, and Sigma.
Sorry, I don't mean to offend, but I guess the question can't be answered without the possibility of making it look counter productive to or offend forum sponsorsships/relationships.
Thanks,
Dusty

Hi Folks, Not sure whare to post this question so if this is the wrong place feel free to move it.
I am considering upgrading my gear. Not counting cost facter, I would prefere to get the most recent production of product.
What source would you recomend for this? ie. Pentax / Nikon bodies and Sigma lenses. Factory web site or high volume authorized dealer?
Thanks in advance, Dusty

Hi and welcome,
I too am located in NH. That being said, outdoor shots around here (Lakes and mountains) tend to have extreme dynamic ranges in a single exposure. Lite sky and dark vegetation etc.
Having had the same problems with my k20 and k5ii, switching to center weighted metering from spot metering has helped a lot. In other words, what Kozlok said.
Enjoy,
Dusty

New here but was reading this and had to mention this
When using my old Miranda setup I used a reverse ring adapter (52mm in this case.) which went right onto the body of the camera and you could take any 52 mm filter size lens and mount it backwards. Wa La The result was a manual macro lens with great quality.
Just thought I'd mention it. I would bet that the same setup is available for the K mount body.

Hello every one.
This is my first time joining a forum. I will try to stay out of the way and observe for a while. I've been watching the forum and realize there is so much knowlege to be gained from this site.
I am new to digital photography and have so much to learn.
Got a new K20D for Christmas for myself. It was an easy choice since I can use my older Pentax lenses from my old PZ-10s. (Which I would be happy to sell.)
Thanks in advance for all your learned opinions, and advice.
Dusty :D
