Hello, Everyone..
I'm located in Meblourne, Australia.
I shoot mainly on my nifty K-m.
After a long hiatus on the forum, I'm glad to come back with some really great news.
I'm over the moon have been selected to be featured in a Pentax Australia's FB (Pentax Snaps Australia) - First Exposure Project.

Sawtooth: Thank you sooo much. If anythign your advice gives me something to work on. I'm mainly working with the knowledge out of books (circa 1950-70) and then seeing what the results end up like. So thanks again!
Weatherwise: Thank you as well. I've tried looking in my area for a camera club or a course but all I've found is they mainly cater to people of the digital persuasion. *shrugs* Though I'm hoping to move soon so fingers crossed I find something in the location I move to. I just invested in a tripod so maybe it will help me slow down a bit and think about the shot before taking it.

Dale: I wasn't fussed about getting views but more advice. As I'm still new at this I was hoping some people would 'critique' them Oh wel.. Thanks anyway you have put a smile on my face with your nice comment!

I have to agree with sawtooth. The blue seems to give it some real depth. I would think the b/w would have made it flat and you would have lost the feel of the photo.

These are in my gallery but I was not getting much feed back, so I though I would see if I would get some tips and hints here on some of my collection.
I'm quite new (started just last year) at photography and I'm eager to know how to improve. I'm finding it harder and harder to find books in the library or courses to help me learn more on film photography.
So here I go...
My first time with a shutter release cable during the night. (agfa 200)
Experimenting with black and white film at the farm. (ilford400)
First time taking a portrait shot (ilford fp4+ 135)
An Experiment with a shutter release cable, a dark room, my partner and a laser pointer. (agfa 200)

I didn't think about marking the film when loaded. *slaps forehead*
I'll give it a go with doing double exp and half frame/split imaging.
Also I'll be sure to post up the results when I've semi-mastered the procedure. :P

A call out to Spotmatic users,
Being quite new to the world of photography I was wondering if anyone is able to offer advice on how to achieve double exposure on a spotmatic2? So I'll throw a few questions out there and see what happens. *fingers crossed*
I searched on this forum and elsewhere on the net and what I've mainly found is that you would take your original images, push in the rewind button and wind back then take the second images....(Though, I would presume the first photos would have to be taken within the fist half of the film to ensure correct positioning of the image when taking the second image..??? or maybe that would be an easy beginning for a noob??) *shrugs*
Also, I'm wondering if using an old 'split-field' lens and 'blacking' out the lens half (matt paint) would work the same as using a 1/2 mask?
So? Would I then have to lengthen my exposure or adjust my fstop with the second image to match the first?
(In other words, I know squat-all about this.) :o

Yeah just a bit. lol
Though, this thread has made me feel a tab better about my grainy pics.
I was starting to think I was the only one out there. I even joked to my partner about starting a 'grain appreciation society' to evoke acceptance toward grain, as most of the public seem to prefer crisp and clean images.. :P

All taken with the Asahi Pentax SP2 + 1:1.4/50
:o I didn't write down the film, though most of film I used during this time were over the counter generic 400-800ISO.

Hi everyone,
Not only am I new to this forum but I quite new to photography as well. :o
My weapon of choice:
+ Asahi Pentax Spotmatic 2
+ Super Takumar 1:1.4/50
+Super-Takumar Zoom Lens 1: 3.5/135
I'll be sure to post up some photos as I progress along and would appreciate any constructive criticism or technique hints/tip along the way.
