I wish I was that patient or lucky ... though there is proof that some wildcats are living in our area this shot was taken this morning in a game park.
Shooting them in the wild is indeed a challenge.

Well, the only way to find out if specific camera/lens combination meets a certain IP protection grade is ... (what a surprise:)) to perform the test as specified in the relevant standard.
Everything else may be an entertaining excercise without much relevance.
Even if you'd plot the data points of pressure resistance and flow as suggested by biz you would need to do the standardized IP protection tests for all these camera/lens combination to see if there is a sufficiently strong correlation.
To make the task even more tricky, time consuming and unrealistic: you can't just do 1 test and judge if the result meets (for example) IP44, IP54, IP55 or IP56 or whatever. The test procedures for all the different protections grades are different ... different nozzles, different flow rates, different angle of water spray or jets etc. ...

Well, I think that is a reasonable approach by Pentax.
The big difference compared to other equipment with "high" IP ratings is that the main components which define the ingress resistance will be frequently disassembled and assembled by consumers, not by "qualified personel" (no disrespect). Many times assembly by "qualified personel" is a precondition for a warranty with regard to the IP rating; I'm talking about industrial equipment.
Neither Pentax nor the customer will ever be able to prove that the equipment was used proberly or not or if careless assembly has for example compüromised the seals etc.

Well, I may be one of the few members here who actually have tested equipment to determine IP ratings ... and I respectfully disagree.
To achieve IP55 is not an easy task and I would not consider it a low rating. Sorry for being off-topic.

I assume you refer to the IP (Ingress Protection) rating?
The standard has been developed by the IEC (International Electrotechnical Commision) and is called IEC 60529.
I don't think that Pentax has ever stated the IP rating for its products. The rating actually only makes sense for a camera with a mounted lens.
My guess is that it may be IP55. The first digit is for ingress protection against particles, the second digit is for liquids.

I don't think that anything in the original photo needed AI for some ... well, let's call it "improvement".
To me the original looks much more natural while to revised version looks "artificial" (especially in the water area).
Yes, as you've mentioned, this maybe a result of using the default settings, but I much prefer the original.

I don't have a chance to visit my home-town often anymore.
But recently I spent a few hours there, visiting the old familiar places and taking a few photos.
This is the main entrance of "my" old church, St. Andrews (or St. Andreas in German). The oldest part of the church was built between 1160 and 1180.

When Ricoh released the GRIIIx I was excited. A small and light camera, easy to carry with you virtually everwhere. Great!
And I like the FOV of a lens equivalent to 40mm on FF much more than the 28mm equivalent fo the original GRIII (I am not a wide-angle guy).
But it's difficult to justify spending 1.000EUR or so for another camera when you have already so many cameras and lenses ... you probably know that feeling.
One of the many cameras I own is the Q7 and with the 01 prime it is ... small, light, easy to carry with you all the time and the same FOV as the GRIIIx
Yes, the later has probably superior IQ. But is it so much better to justify spending 1.000EUR?
