yep happened to me once when I 1st got my k200d...around Sept last year. I think the batteries were getting low and I had to take them out to stop it from firing. Hasn't happened since though. Very Strange!

Welcome from another Aussie. My k200d rarely leaves my side as well...my wife is starting to think I am a bit weird! Looking forward to seeing some photos from you, maybe some Adelaide architecture?

There was a recent thread about Digital Camera Warehouse in Australia that recently dropped the k200d from their website. This is one of the bigger online (and actual stores as well)places in Australia and is where I bought my k200d a few months ago.
I rang them today asking about the k200d and they replied that they can no longer place any more orders for it from Pentax as there is no more stock left. Apparently the only stock in Australia is what retailers have already bought.
Pentax Aus. have told them that there will be a replacement announced at PMA.
Dont know how this affects speculation for the k20d but its sounds as though there will be just as likely or more likely a replacement for the k200d....or both??

Value for money.
Weather sealing.
Lenses.
Its not Nikon or Canon.
Did I mention value for money?
IMO nothing else is close:)

Very nice. How are you liking the A 50 1.7? Picked up one myself for my k200d as well and I am very impressed. Love the 3rd shot BTW.

welcome aboard. I just relocated my family from spending the last 8 years in Perth. Great place...and much to photograph. I actually was working for Rottnest Island for the past 7 years...again magical place to photograph.
Looking foward to seeing some of your shots from around Perth (and elsewhere).

I have just seen the email as well. I'm going down to the bank first thing tomorrow to donate. I still cant believe the news reports every time I check...more casualties etc. I cannot fathom what these people have gone through and are still going through.
I'm saying my prayers for all of those affected. I just hope they all recieve the support that they need over the coming months.

Took the family camping for the weekend.
Kookaburras (very Australian bird), Kangaroos, abandoned huts and peace and quiet....can't complain really. Oh, and a very aggressive goanna (Australian lizard) that I had to get out of the way of....FAST!!

Thanks Wombat, I'm not yet a pixel peeper but this lens is serving me well. I spend quite a bit of time camping with my family and hope this lens will capture some wildlife/nature shots. I have also taken some OK portrait shots as well...but only outdoors as this lens loves to hunt for auto focus in low light situations! But for $190Aus I'm not complaining!
thanks again..
