Thanks for taking the time to post.
That's such a simple way to improve technique, thanks for pointing it out. I'll be out chasing geese at the weekend!

Would someone more qualified care to comment on this photo please.
I quite like it, but would it have been better with both birds in focus? or would that distract from the main subject?
I'm undecided.
Thanks

Just saying hello and thanks for all the useful info here. Seems a friendly place to hang out.
As a result of lurking quietly in the shadows, and reading lots, I decided on what to purchase.
In the end I decided that a K20 would probably be more than I needed, and I wanted a longer lens and a flash to go with the camera body and kit lens.
It was in the end a straight choice between a K2000 ( I'm in the UK) and K200 body. The K200 won, mainly because it felt more comfortable to handle. I got the kit lens and a DA55-300, with a pentax 360 flash. I should be set up for quite a while, until LBA gets hold of me!
So far I've been experimenting, and fired about 600 shots, and am very pleased with the results. I've still got a lot of learning to do.
I will post a couple of my better shots soon, and hopefully the experts here will offer some constructive criticism!
This hobby's addictive! But you all know that already!
