I have a Pentax f 70-210 and would like add a lens hood to it. I did a search and the results were vague. Diameter is 49mm. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I don't own a video camera and I thought that the K-7 would fill the gap for those instances when one would come in handy. I would only take video clips of no more than 10 minutes with most being much less. I think it would great to have to only lug around one camera. I'm sure the Canon HV20 is nice but it would be overkill for my needs. :)

I just realized that the K-7 video capabilities does not include auto focus. I am very tempted to get this camera and even my wife is on board as she too likes the fact it has video. Now that I learned that I have to manually focus the lens while recording, I'm having second thoughts. I'm positive my wife will not be pleased and I can hear her already after she tries to shoot video with it especially of the kids running around. :(
How much of an issue is this with those who ordered it?
Do you think that Pentax will have it available in the next upgrade?
Do other camera manufacturers offer auto focus in video mode?
When shooting video, which lenses would you suggest to work with manually?
Thanks....................... Tom

I truly hope it does as I think it would be difficult to take random video especially if I ask my wife to take video without the auto focus.

I'm sure that this was discussed before though I can't seem to find this answer anywhere. Does the K-7 in video mode have auto focus capabilities?

It is to my understanding that only the DA* lenses are water resistant.

"Personally I've never found enough difference to justify purchase of 16-45.... pick 18-55 and enjoy it, later when you'll save more get something far better."
I find this informative, I was thinking about upgrading to the 16-45 and even though the 16-45 is somewhat nicer than the 18-55 II, I'll wait until I can justify something better.

Thanks all for the advice. I was going hold off until I could justify the purchase for the FA50mm f1.4 but saw these two lens and thought it would be an inexpensive way to get a 50mm prime. I was told that the two lens were in excellent condition and if so, at least I can add them to my limited collection. I'm not sure how much use I'll get out of a Takumar 135mm 3.5 zoom when I have a FA 70-210 in my bag.

Hello all, I have a chance to pick up locally two Takumar lenses. One is SMC Takumar 1:1.8/55 and the other is SMC Takumar 1:3.5/135 zoom. The seller wants $50 for the pair. I looked at the lens reviews and it seems like a good deal. I'm new to most of this so I thought I would ask the experts. ;)

Ironically I just dusted off my old Minolta SRT 200 just this morning before I read this post. I bought it in the late '70s and have taken numerous pictures with it mostly in slides. Upgraded to a Pentax SF-1 in the late '80s and recently took the splurge into digital photography with the acquisition of a K200d.
Though the metering seemed to still work on the Minolta, I too would like to know where one can get a replacement battery for it.

New member here and new owner of the K200d. Bought the kit with the DA18-55 lens for $350 new from someone who got it for Christmas and didn't need it. I been using the SF1 for many years and decided to make the change to digital. Since I had the SF1, I had two lenses. One was the kit lens F 35-70 and bought the F 70-210. I just got the camera last night. After reading the manual, it said it works in general with DA, D FA and FA J lenses. I have been reading this forum and notice that there are few that have these lenses and been using it with assorted K series cameras. My questions are, is there something I should be aware in regards to using these lenses? If so, what are their limitations?
This forum is a great find.
Thanks.......... Tom
