its impossible. theres two little notches on each side under the outer ring...and a wire that i can move inside the center shaft...
i would send it to Pentax but they dont even know if they can fix it.

the Exposure Compensation Dial on my Pentax ME is tilted, so the film doesnt roll correctly. i get about 10 pictures out of the whole roll. i bought an identical camera that doesnt work, but i can still use the parts. can i swap out one Exposure Dial without breaking the camera?

hello everyone!
i have had my hand-me-down Pentax ME for about a year now. my first camera, other than disposable and a frustrating, Fuji, digital that decides what pictures it wants to take. I seem to enjoy the film camera over the digital. theres nothing like the anticipation for the outcome of that picture you could hardly wait to see. of course, digital is convienient and the settings are fun to play with.
i joined the site for help with my current problem with my Exposure Compensation Dial and my rewind. i hope to find help and many friends from whoever is offering.
thanks

i have a Pentax ME and the Exposure Compensation Dial is tilted (i think it was dropped in its head). i just bought a camera just like it on ebay for replacement parts. i was able to remove the Film Rewind from both cameras but not the Dial. How do i extract this part? seems imposible.
any help is greatly appreciated. going crazy without my camera.
