From the RAW. I went into the gimp and channel swapped R and B, and auto leveled.

My father has an FZ1, it was the camera I used to use before I got the K2000..
I tried a cheap flea market IR filter on my cell phone and video camera (which is 1080p HDV), but both have IR blocking filters and limited exposure settings, and boosting the stuff later resulted in nasty pictures.
Cell phone:
Video camera (in photo mode):
The pentax didn't like the cheap IR filter at all, hence I purchased an R72 that'll arrive soon in the mail once the seller ships it.

I'm getting a R72 52mm lens for my K2000 and it's stock lens.
What else will I need to do? I know I'll need a really long exposure, and a tripod..
Am I missing anything? All photo editing is done in Apples Aperture.

I had the model entered, musta forgot when I had to retype it.
K2000..
I looked in the manual but couldn't find anything.. Info button seemed to be the only button that turned it off, but as soon as the shutter button was pressed, either for a picture or focus, it'd come back on again.

Is there a way to keep the LCD turned off? For example, when trying to shoot at night, I'll for the sake of being easy, lightly press the shutter button a couple of times to autofocus while looking through the viewfinder, but as soon as i let go, the LCD turns on blaring my eye (when in a dark room this hurts my eye).
I've pressed info to turn it off, but as soon as i tap the shutter lightly, it turns back on again.

Unfortunately, my manual (and box!) was thrown out by certain family members, and no longer have that. I will read that, thanks..
EDIT: It worked, thank you so much!

Just gave it a try, still flashes the F----.. I then tried adjusting the aperture on the lens itself, still won't get rid of the F----. The dial on the camera doesn't even work when flashing the F----.

I have an old teleconverter that I used to use on my Pentax A3000 SLR, for many years.
Today I wanted to try it on my K2000 for the Oct 10 thing in the gallery, but couldn't get it to work, it keeps flashing the following on the screen. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v395/Evilweredragon/10-10-09_2019.jpg
(Sorry about poor quality. The only way I could take a picture of my K2000 was with my cell phone)
I have the lens I want to use (which works just fine on the K2000 by itself), in the auto position.
Any ideas?

My K2000's shutter has lately been getting stuck. The mirror will go up, but the shutter will not open. At this point, the power light turns off, and the screen goes blank. Turning it off and on doesn't fix it.
When I open the battery door and close it, the mirror comes back down and the camera comes back to life, and likely takes a couple more pics before getting stuck again.
Using brand new Nimh rechargeable batteries that were fully charged, and now half charged.
It did this a couple times a few weeks ago when the batteries were low and I shrugged it off as being dead batteries. But right now they are half full and doing it. Surely it has enough power to open the shutter?
I've taken probably 8000 pictures with this camera already. Is it possible for the shutter to already be failing? What's the rated life of it?
Thanks.
EDIT: One time when it failed it did actually take a picture and saved it to the SD card which I thought was odd. I was at a night club taking pics, and when the shutter got stuck, this was the freakish result. http://blackevilweredragon.deviantart.com/art/Shutter-Incident-134514359 |

I purposedly bought the in-stock black model so I could get it ASAP. I'm going to Daytona Beach soon and would like to get it, otherwise I'm stuck shooting with my fathers Panasonic Lumix...

I couldn't find any local retailers that had the camera. So I figured to buy online from Pentax. Didn't expect to have to go through this hassle.

I ordered a K2000 from Pentax's Web Store sunday night. All I got was 1 email from them verifying I placed the order. It's now Tuesday and still no email about shipment, nor the charge to the card.
I love Pentax to death, and I really want the K2000. I figured getting it direct would take out the middle man.
How long should I give before I call?
