Nice shots so far everyone. I'd love to sign up. I know the list is long, but perhaps I may get it on its way back to Toronto. -=drj

This is one of the greats that I'd love to own, but my friend convinced me to get the 31 first. I'll consider it, but really can't afford it ATM.

A New Method...

If I had enough data points, I wouldn't be the least bit surpised either! A large "U" shape. If you had a more extreme lens, lets say 0.001mm -> 900mm, I would expect the same result. A large "U" shape. You are only using the extremes of the lens because that is what "will suffice" in a given situation. If, like in your circumstance I noticed a slightly distorted "U" shape. -more in the 50 mm direction, I would try to extend the range of my lens in that direction. It should indicate that the lens does not have enough reach for the photos you want to take. I suspect that this will be an issue for most as photographers are lazy...*cough* *cough* er... "efficient". So keep your lens and move your legs, or buy a longer lens. :)

Using Harmony Remote for Pentax Remote

Russell;

That's awesome! Thanks for the lead. But when I load the camera into my remote, no IR sequences are there for the camera...sigh! It also "supports" the K-100D, but alas... nothing there either.

If anyone else has some IR leads, it would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Chris

As Daniel noted I didn't understand the difference between the -K and -M series. I was just recommended a manual focus fast 50 to practice with my new K10D. Well, they're cheap (relatively speaking), nice primes and make you think about what you're filming. Great for a beginner. _hate_ the kit lens now. :)

Here's a picture of a friend I took with my new purchase I took about 50 photo's before this and and then the following one made the local news weather segment once I submitted it, literally first time out with it.

Have people out there experienced much difference between the -K and -M versions of this lens?

Comments and constructive criticism are more than welcome.

I don't use the 50 as much now since I've gotten lazy and moved to the 31mm LTD., but still use the 50 indoors at night. And for the Telephoto- Sigma's 70-200. I'm thinking of the Sigma 10-20 to round out my kit. Anyone else recommend anything different or offer any other opinions.

Cheers.

I happen to also have a harmony remote and K10D. I would love to know which device/key you used to trigger the camera. I can easily add this info to my remote and try it out and post the results in a "HOW-TO", but I really don't want to go through the effort of guessing. A head start would be much appreciated.

Cheers.

Teleconverter for Sigma 70-200 f/2.8 HSM?

My best idea is to sit and wait on E-Bay or Craigslist or the forums here until someone wants to ditch there copy. There doesn't seem to be that many floating around. The other option is to wait (for who knows how long) for Pentax to release their TC with SDM/HSM support
