SMC Pentax-M F4 200mm prime Asking Price
45.00 SOLD!! Item Description
Ok this one is a bit rough on the outside but the optics are still in exc. condition. There is a ding in the attached pull out shade and a matching ding in the filter ring as well as a decent scuff on the black portion just near the base below the aperture setting. The aperture is clean and snappy (no oil) the focusing is smooth. Are you the original owner of the item being sold?

PentaxForums.com Marketplace Listing Item for Sale
SMC Pentax-Da 50-200mm ed f4-5.6 Asking Price
100.00 SOLD!! Item Description
Ok this is the standard "kit" lens that came with my k10d. I just purchased a "Bigma" and see no need in any telephotos in it's range. Now to make my wife happy I need to get rid of some toys. The lens is in excellent shape, aperture, contacts and glass are all like new. It comes as shown with the original caps, and hood (sorry no box). I will pack it insanely well and provide tracking when shipped. You can check out my ebay feedback as well "kkcwiebe" same as here. I will also post locally (winnipeg) on Kijiji)
I will also be posting an older 200mm f4 smc-m in a few minutes.

I use Colorvision's Pantone Spyder 2 pro. On the low end what one needs to do is at least get a Kodak Target and a copy of Vuescan then follow vuescan's instructions to calibrate the scanner. There are a ton of goddies in Vuescan and for less than 100 bucks it is a real bargin. in my lab we have an xrite but lets not go into $4K fixes for a 100 dollar problem;)

Yes tyo Vuescan and or Yes to Silverfast.
But. . . Another big issue is if you use the "digital ice" on some film it will go wacky on you no matter what software you use. The infrared channel can really mess up the scan sometimes. Also calibration is a must and to go further, choosing the right film profile will help some can even be downloaded form the internet.

I can say witout a doubt that the only correct way to do this is to scan the film with a proprietary film scanner. For low end work the best way is to run out and get a Nikon supercool scan and Vuescan or Silverfast. Then read Scantips.com then scan all your film. Once finished you can sell that scanner on Ebay for 80% of your original investment! For my business I use a nikon supercoolscan 5000ED and the feeder but for large format and Hi-end scans I use a Hassleblad Imacon but the Nikons scans are near perfect all the time.

Ok above is spot on. I own and operate a film scanning business and have been a professional drum/film scanner for over 14 years and without spending bazzilions on calibration equipment I can tell you it is not easy. I run a mac but I hear Qimage and its colour cal component helps alot on Pc's as well as using VUESCAN as the scanner front end (PC/MAC). Also using colorvision's spyder with prinfix is a cheap solution. I also own an HP and dislike the results on any brand of gloss paper. Try a matte sheet as well and see if the issue is lessened by it, doubtful but HP's inks IMHO print on matte / semi matte / semi gloss alot better.
FYI I'm constantly stummped by inaccurate colour from scan to monitor to print, however with my setup it rarely happens. If you want send me the original image and I will colour correct and send back to you to test no problems!
