it will work without wires, but you must set the flash and camera to the same channel so they can communicate. And make sure that the 58 AF sensor is facing the camera, then the onboard flash can trigger the Metz

In Japan, the fiscal year used is 01 April to 31 March. I think even their government budget system follows this pattern.

thanks, so the Metz 58 seems as good as, if not better than the Pentax 540 (for the other features)

Hi, what is the maximum distance (with line of sight assumed) that will still allow the onboard K10D flash to wirelessly fire the Metz 58 AF?
Hope someone knows.

yes, read the manual before the change in firmware, then again with new firmware (stuff missing). Then read it again last Christmas. :)

hi, I've been lurking around since 2007, and finally decided to register. I don't have much to say, except that I learned more about the use of the camera (K10D) and it's accessories in the forums than by reading the manual.
Thanks to all those who kindly share their experiences on these boards.
