I don't have plans for any fireworks pictures this year. But in celebration of Independence day here is something from a couple years ago.

I've taken a very similar shot of this on sheet film. Here is a Pentax 67 version.

I don't think I have ever used a level attached to a tripod. I usually just eyeball to make sure the top of the tripod is reasonably level and them make sure that my horizon looks right.

An 11 shot handheld pano at Beachy Head near Eastbourne today. The cliff is 165 metres high (540ft) and there is a chaplaincy team on hand as it is a famous spot for jumpers.

If only our cameras remained pristine with use and photos of the cameras, like that above, gained all of the scratches like the "Picture of Dorian Gray."

Why thanks. I'm flattered. I'm a small fish in a big pond of BW film photographers with way more talent than me. Your last post is pretty electrifying.
Thanks again.

Yep a gem of an older generation 6x7 lens, love it.
Be careful when buying a used leaf shutter lens, there have bee frequent post with new forum users having issues firing a flash with the lens. Make sure the seller has tested this.

Indeed, I used my 67 M 90 mm f/2.8 with flash on my 645N for portraiture with great success in the film era. Regards |

I've been eyeing that 67 800mm EDIF lens for years, but not in a position to make such a purchase at the moment! Wish I were...
Of course, with that lens in hand, it can be used with its dedicated 1.4x converter and get something even longer...

Hi Steve,
A Pentax 67 with 45 and 55mm lenses sold here in Australia (New South Wales) privately for more than AU$8,000, around 10th August I think. It was through Gumtree and selling from the filthy-rich suburb of Mosman in (Sydney) NSW. I had only seen the listing once and didn't pay much attention to it, thinking it was a Japan listing (laughable, as improbable as that would be for Gumtree!!). Meanwhile, the 75mm f2.8AL is still heading north in used and NOS/NIB markets. No way I would buy it for $3,700 when I got mine for $1,000! Hang on to those little chestnuts!!

Great capture of a beautiful location! The Plustek OpticFilm 120 seems like a very capable scanner.
