So now with the lens set to Auto is the viewfinder brighter? It should be. Also, moving the aperture ring should now have no affect because the lens will only stop down once the shutter is fired.

I’d get rid of everything but the FA limiteds and a macro. I’d replace the telephotes with one of the newer Zoom offerings. Maybe keep a wide angle zoom if you need it.

Here are a couple I liked from the roll. If you look closely on the one of my son you can see the reticulation.

Reticulation it is. CineStill just got back to me. I must have not had the water warm enough during my initial rinse. Lesson learned. Thank you all for taking the time to look and respond.

Hello. I hope it is cool to post this here. I am looking for some help/advice here. I have shot and scanned 3-4 rolls of Tri-X 400 in the last couple weeks and up until now it has been great. I scanned these negatives last night and there are there random squiggly lines in them. They cover all frames in the roll. Attached is a crop to show what I am talking about. I developed in Cinestill DF96 monobath. I have eliminated my led back light surface...I scanned some P3200 at the same time and these lines are not visible. I also scanned some 120 Tri-X 400 that looks great. However this is the last thing I developed in the DF96. I followed the directions...constant agitation for the recommended time and temp. I am scanning with my K3. Any ideas what could have caused these lines? Thank you.

Just a photo of my cat. Pentax 67 with 105mm @ f2.4. Kodak TriX 400, developed in Cinestill DF96. Scanned with my K3 and Sigma 105mm macro, converted in Dark Table. TriX 120 is a beautiful film in my opinion.

I used a tripod. I shot everything at f/8. The first batch was auto-focused in aperture priority, the P3200 was manually focused in live view using focus assist (I think this method is better). I used 1/125th for my shutter.

This is a bit different from the usual post. I have been using my Sigma 105mm f2.8 macro lens to scan negatives. Since the birth of my son on 8/10 I have been shooting him almost exclusively with my film cameras, which are 2 Minolta 35mm, a recently acquired Super Program (thanks MightlyMike), and my Pentax 67 and 67ii). These shots are from the Minoltas. A mixture of TRI-X 400, and T-MAX P3200. All shot at box speed and processed normally by me using the newish CineStill DF86 monobath developer. I first used my phone as a backlight, but I just got a cheap LED panel which is much better. I used NegaDoctor in DarkTable for the conversion. It is very quick and easy.
The Sigma does a fantastic job and gives a god working distance so I am not hunched over too much when working. The Tri-x (less grainy shots) were f/8 and whatever shutter the meter suggested....so a fairly slow shutter. The P3200 negatives were all f/8. 1/125 and with the new backlight.
Let me know what you think.

Where do I begin....
We have our first baby coming any day so I have been trying to stock up because I expect to be broke for the next 18 years or so.
I finally got a 67ii and a 135mm f4 macro to go with it. I could not afford an AE prism so I have an 6x7 unmetered prism, which is fine because I was either going to get the 67ii or a Fuji rangefinder, which is unmetered. I might not keep the 67ii though. It was so expensive that I am just worried it will fail and I will be stuck with it. So I might swap it for a 6x7 or 67 and then add a Fuji 6x8 or 6x9.
I also have some FA645 lenses on the way.
45-85mm FA f4.5 zoom
150mm FA f2.8
300mm FA* f4 - Bit nervous about this one as it is from B&H and rated an 8. We'll see. It should come tomorrow.
I am very excited to use these.

The PKA won't stop down all the way and since I used the K for years without issue I just stuck with that instead if risking and damage to the lens. ---------- Post added 07-29-2020 at 06:54 AM ---------- Sale pending.

Tamron Adaptall 300mm f2.8 Asking Price
Tamron - 350.00 USD Item Location
Milwaukee (United States) Item Description Tamron
It's time to let this beast go. It has served me well. No major issues with it. The front filter has some marks and fine scratches and there is dust and a piece of small lint in the glass. Otherwise it appears clean. Still a great lens for the money. Both the front and rear filters are included. There is no lens cap, but it come with a lens coat neoprene front cover. Original lens hood also included. It comes with a km mount so green button metering is required on a Pentax.
As a "bonus" I am including a Pk/a adapter but I can't figure out how to get it to work. So consider that a freebie and not guaranteed to work. Maybe not true macros, but here are some shots from the garden yesterday with my new-to-me Sigma 105mm EX macro. I have wanted this lens for a long time and a non-DG version came up super cheap so I grabbed it. All were shot as DNG RAW files processed in DxO Photo Lab 3. I am currently using a trial version and considering buying the full version. I like it a lot so far. I decided to order prints of all three through SmugMug. I ordered some other 5x7s last week and the quality was nice so I ordered these a bit larger. The metallic prints they offer are really nice looking, especially for these types of compositions. Let me know what you think (good or bad). Attachment 503227 Attachment 503228 Attachment 503229 |

I've been naughty lately. I picked up the following:
Pentax FA 645 200mm f4
SMC 200mm f2.5
SMC 135mm f2.5
Sigma 50-150m f2.8
Sigma 30mm f1.4
67 SMC 135 f4 macro
35mm f1.6 cctv lens for my canon eos m
Like I said. Pretty naughty. I love shooting those 645 FA lenses. They just feel so good...even being completely manual.

Good experiences here too. I have ordered a lot lately. One seller cancelled my order because he said Japan post is closed for international orders right now (which I googled, and it is). All other sellers must have used a different service because packages arrived in a few days, which is remarkable.

I just got this but am going to change direction. The Pentax Forums shutter count utility is showing 70. I am not the original owner so I guess the first never used it.
The camera comes with the box and all accessories (usb cable, battery, charger, manual, cd, factory strap, not the one pictured, all 3 grips, and some other ppwk). Shipping is included and I'll ship priority mail. ---------- Post added 06-23-2020 at 07:15 PM ---------- Sale pending. ---------- Post added 06-24-2020 at 11:37 AM ---------- Sold.
