Can anyone give me their opinion of the Pentax AF 360 FGZ flash? Is $200 Can. a good price for a used one? I do not have an external flash for my camera but a couple people have told me it would be a good thing to have. The person selling it said she paid $400 for it & hasn't used it much. Thanks.

Hi,
I have a Pentax K200D & just bought a Pentax 75-300 lens. I was hoping to be able to use this lens to get pictures of my son at his graduation which will be held in a big auditorium. I'm not sure if I will have enough light with this lens to do this. I do not have an external flash at this time & there won't be room to use a tripod. Am I better off to not zoom in as close as I assume that will require less light? Am I better off just to use my point & shoot which as a 6X zoom & get as close as I can? The ISO on my point & shoot goes to 800 but on my SLR goes to 1600. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
I am thinking now that maybe I should have purchased a better lens that will work better in low light conditions but I assume they are much more expensive & don't know if I can justify the cost.
Thanks

Hi,
Just wanted to introduce myself. I just upgraded my digital point & shoot camera which was a Canon & bought a Pentax K200D with the 18-55 lens. I plan to buy a telephoto lens, external flash, & possibly a macro lens etc. in the future. I had a film SLR camera in the past but mostly used it on automatic. I am doing some reading to review things like aperture, shutter speed etc. I want to learn as much as I can about how to take good pictures in various situations.
I take mostly family, my pets, some travel & scenery & would like to take more nature photos. I would like to try macro photography especially with flowers & possibly some still life. I would like to learn how to take good photos in low light situations like the one I encountered a while ago where the moon was shining through the trees in my back yard.
I look forward to being part of this group.
