Nature Lake Wapizagonke, Mauricie Nat'l Park, Quebec, CANADA.

While visiting Mauricie Nat'l Park in october, I witnessed this absolutely charming scene of kayakers going past "Isle aux Pins" on Wapizagonke Lake. This viewpoint is reached by climbing down a difficult 250 meter path covered with rocks and tree roots, particularly treacherous when you are loaded like a mule. But the results were well worth the effort.

Macchi in flight
by RobGeraghty, on Flickr

This display at the Historical Aircraft Restoration Society shows a RAAF Macchi trainer in flight. It is painted as A7-030 in the RAAF Roulette display team colour scheme. While the majority of the aircraft is A7-030, it is actually a hybrid of parts from other aircraft and the internal components have been removed. The Macchi was used by the RAAF as a jet trainer in the late 1960s until 2001 when they were replaced with the Hawk.

Flow

Oil patterns on Connie's surfaces. The Superconstellation affectionately known as Connie is the centrepiece of the collection at HARS. Many of the volunteers at HARS are former employees of Qantas, and Qantas flew the Superconstellation before it was superseded by the 707. Hopefully soon John Travolta's 707 will join the collection; it is also a former Qantas aircraft. :)

More to come.

Thanks. Zabriskie Point has become a popular place for photographers. Although I was the first one there early one February morning, by the time I left shortly after sunrise there were probably close to fifty people there. Probably considerably less now with the virus, but you're not likely to be alone.

Another shot at same place, also with the DA 55-300 PLM:

Love new toys and I have two of them. Here’s a photo of one of them, taken with the second one on the KP:

It’s been interesting trying to fly it - this one isn’t that hard and I’ve been very pleased with the results. Eventually I might get good enough with it to actually take a reasonable video, but for now I’ll stick to stills.

Both of those photos were taken with the D FA 70-210 f4 lens, my other new toy.

I hope to give it a better workout tomorrow, but I was pleased with these two shots.

Then looking the opposite direction from my new campsite in Nevada:

Welcome. You will be astonished by the IQ on the KP and the way it handles iso up to 12800, brilliant! The ergonomics are different but they play very nicely with small, limited lenses. I set the top exposure button to exposure lock. In av I have back button focus, back dial is aperture, front is exposure compensation, top is Iso. That way you have everything to hand. You made a tremendous choice. The electronic shutter is lovely. There is a good video on YouTube by Mattias burling. Enjoy

How to deactivate SDM and allow for screw drive autofocus with DA* 16-50mm f/2.8

Just following up on the help provided by daacon, and many others, in this thread.

I have managed to get my K20 with firmware 1.04 into debug mode and after that the process was really pretty straight forward.

Where I had gone wrong was holding menu while switching on camera with memory card door closed. This allowed me to access a limited debug menu within the main/normal camera menu...but no option to save the lens ROM.

After making the MODSET file as per instructions listed here, with card door open, hold menu and turn on camera...full debug menu, easy to save and load the lens ROMs and I have now converted both a 16-50 and a 50-135. I'll play around with them over the next few days to see what I think...but now know it is easy to switch back if I decide too.

Anyway...all good and thanks again.
Dean
